I like at least half of it... and my dislike for some of the album has nothing to do with the "new electric sound/approach".

I listened once through on Sunday and thought it was pretty bad. But realistically first impressions mean very little on these types of albums.

I know it's a pretty significant departure from the sound of their last two albums, and it's not exactly a unique sound, but I still have really been enjoying it. It's good music to listen to while working.

I dug the first two albums. This one took a few listens, but I do enjoy it...especially "The Wolf".

It's interesting when you put on the deluxe version and hear the live versions of Thompkins Sq Park, The Wolf, Believe, and Snake Eyes. They are much better live than the studio version.

That being said, its growing on me, but not as much as the first two albums

Pretty much my reaction as well. Kinda bummed that the first single was the best song, IMO. All downhill after that...

After repeated listens, a few more tracks have grown on me.

I think Believe is terrible. Tompkins, The Wolf, Broad-Shouldered Beasts, and Ditmas are all much better.

Tonight's show at Merriweather Post Pavilion is being live streamed on Pandora. If anyone is planning on capturing it I would be interested in getting it from you. Technically not inclined and won't be arnd tonight to even attempt it.

XRT in Chicago is going to broadcast/stream the show this Wednesday: [Only registered users can see links.]

I'm hoping someone captures it since I'll be there.

So far, the Mumford cover of 'Friend of the Devil' is by far the worst thing about this Day Of The Dead compilation album.

Just listened, what the shit was that? The song seems like it'd be in their wheelhouse given the original instrumentation but instead they made it a bad Wilder Mind outtake

I definitely agree. They could have done a great version using their original sound. What they did instead is really terrible.

I haven't been paying attention since Thile took over, but I'm going to bet that that might be the first time Radiohead has been performed on the Prairie Home Companion stage.
