wow, this preorder is done much better than big whiskey. if you order the LP, you get the single free, and the digital copy and the CD of the album free.

The guitar riff to You and I sounds a lot like Dylan's 'Love Minus Zero Limit'.

I'm not a fan of the s/t album, but Sky Blue Sky has aged very well with me. I still don't like Either Way and Leave Me (Like You Found Me), but most of the rest is good to me.

Yeah; as long as he writes the songs he does I don't mind.

His laugh always weirds me out; it almost reminds of that snicker Bush had.

I like the lyrics on these new ones; he was one of the greatest lyricists back during the Summerteeth/YHF/Ghost days. These songs seem like a bit of tilt more in that direction.

as good as YHF is, my favorite Wilco period will always be A.M. through Summerteeth. they had some god damned jams back then. Shot In The Arm, Casino Queen, I Must Be High, Misunderstood, etc.

Last 5 years is parallel to the Matthews Band. Average studio releases bashed by the die hards. Tracks played out much better live. Adapting to lineup changes.

If Tweedy let's go on this album, it could be a great one.

Something for every musical taste in their discography.

Some cool videos here of the band working on the new album. There's not that much to hear in terms of song structure, but there's some cool stuff in there, including Nels going crazy.

This is a random double standard of yours. I remember you saying fuck Franz Nicolay from THS because he was an asshole, yet you like Tweedy because of that fact...iiiiinteresting

heh, i see what you're saying.

i guess for me, and i'm not saying it's a normal or an OK way to think, is that franz hasn't earned the right to be an asshole. tweedy is successful, writes great songs (or at least did), and his asshole-ness seems to come from a better (or just more tortured) place.

franz is some no name keyboard player who just came across like a douchebag in person to me and he's fucking nobody.
