I'll have to check this one out. Psychedelics always have a good effect on the music

I've been listening to a lot of 89-90 lately, so decided to cleanse the palate with some 2/28/69 Fillmore West. Absolutely smokin'

Now I'll probably get stuck in this era for a bit. Just another great thing about the GD.

Nice. What other '89 and '90 have you listened to?

As a lyric guy, Robert Hunter fascinates me. I wish he was a bigger part of the recent doc. Does anyone know of any good articles, or books about him? I read a great article a year or so ago. I never realized he was almost in the band. I realize he gets a lot of credit, but I don’t think he gets any where near enough. He has to be a top 5 lyricist or all time.

I agree wholeheartedly. Hunter's lyrics are a huge part of the GD's appeal and a big reason why they are timeless Americana.

Dennis McNally's book "Long Strange Trip" had a lot on Hunter, IIRC. I have "Box of Rain", his book of lyrics from the '90's, on the bookshelf. I can't remember if there's any type of autobiographical or other commentary in there besides the lyrics.

Really nice mono boards have dropped of the complete 10/30 & 10/31/80 RCMH shows. Stuff you'd never thought you'd see. An even more beautiful mono board of 10/13/80 is also out there (has been for a few weeks). Surreptitiously recorded but probably the best source of these shows. Just as heads up.
To those that don't know, these shows are known to not exist in the vault, having been taped over. So this may be the best we ever get.

Would you be able to point me in the direction of these?

I took a quick look earlier, couldn't find 'em. I don't think I'm that blind, but I'll certainly keep an eye there.

The torrent site for GD (and more). Almost everything of significance is on there first before it eventually shows up on bt.etree. And there's no ratio issues to worry about, so sign up and download all you want.

speaking of which, Charlie Miller just said in the "shoutbox" there this a..m:
