One of the best things DMB related we've seen.

Holy shit. This Proudest Monkey is one of the best ive heard. I know this song was at its peak in 95-97 but this one is fantastic. Id have to compare against the version we have from the WH disc.

Also interesting, after Jimi Thing in the sound check dave definitely starts messing around with the Captain chords. Still about a month before he played that one live at that Agents of Good Roots show, but interesting to see its on his mind.

Also, someone asks Carter what song they just played after Jimi and he really had to think about the name. And Dave's ciggy tucked into his headstock on Billies. This is a fun one to have access to for sure.

it goes to show how much they love playing music. Anyone who plays knows how much fun it is to play regardless of status. It's just always fun.

He still plays hard, but he uses a bunch of different guitars and his guitar tech changes strings like every 5 songs or so per guitar, so he breaks strings less frequently.

Pretty sure it went the other way. They played it slowed down at Luther College which predates this show.

You're right, I thought it was the other way around. Very cool.

No electric guitar - just Tim doing tasty acoustic fills, Boyd cut out except for the solo, Jeff going off but in a nice small window and Carter playing tasty AF. They can do more of this.

Easily one of the top 5 most underrated songs in the catalog. Great version and love how there is still space for it to breathe. Really wish the band would embrace it more. Tim's just tasteful and adds depth, which if he played like that more often, could steer the entire band in the right direction.

Dave is playing A minor rather than A in the first couple of go-arounds and I think Tim alerted him and he glanced at him and corrected it (1:18)
