they are and aren't. it's being used for those purposes during the show (along with the projector), but it's also being recorded for archiving/potential release. they just took it a step further with the boom this fall tour and i'm guessing we will see a release of some sort from the tour.

the sole purposes of the cameras at d & t are for recording. the guy in vegas said it was just for "archiving" when asked this go round though. last year they said it would be a release (though we never saw it)

They had some videos being shown on the screens at best buy earlier this year from the 2009 Vegas D&T shows. This was for the promotion of the CD.

Sample of Grey Street can be found at: [Only registered users can see links.]

Fenton's company, Filament Productions, did the whole show in terms of Set Design, Lighting Design and Full HD shoot

This video is awesome. I know we're lucky to get so many high quality youtube videos these days, but I really wish they would have more videos as official releases.

most bands put out 1, maybe 2, live dvd's in their entire career. i think dmb has too many, if anything.

all that's really necessary is CP and Brixton.

Plus this band has has so many different sounds and phases. I am actually surprised that they do not put a "best of" out at the end of every year. even if it was just online.

Yeah, if they're really making the effort to video tape all the shows, you'd think they'd release more. I'm sure sales would far outweigh production costs.

it still costs money to produce at least 100,000 of them to sell, and to do it every year i just don't think it would be financially successful.

when will they put up a camera at the soundboard and just let it run. one shot. like being there. i cant deal with the 5000 cuts in one show. i will say i like the vegas grey street style, though i still think a wide shot of the stage should at least be a special extra viewing option or something. zoomed in on band members does not make me feel at all like i do when at the show
