Y’all ready for an unpopular opinion?

Tim isn’t as good as he used to be when he joined this band in the 90’s. Butch was the better fit at this point in DMB’s career.

That Prodest Monkey solo he ripped at alpine in 08 was one of the best moments I've ever seen at a concert. And it does seem to me the epic bust outs seem to be more rare.

So your statement might be true as Dave reigns in the band's ability to contribute I don't know. Plus it's been over 10 years since Butch.

Big Whiskey is the best album the band has put out since Busted Stuff. I think it's more complete and finished sounding than AFTW.

I think it's Dave's best music lyrically since busted stuff, hence why I share your opinion

My unpopular opinion, carter is really starting to lose it. I’m not impressed by him any more. The intros to stand up seem more like him trying to find the grove than an intro. The past few shows I’ve listened to have been great. I know it’s the start of the tour and Boyd threw a wrench, but if he’s truly not been a big part of DMB for as long as y’all claim it shouldn’t matter.

Will not surprise me if this is their last tour.

Half is Stand Up, the other half is awesome. I'll take that to get to the awesome.

PS. We're talking about the song, right?

no i think he's talking about the comeback of many songs from that album this tour. i think the only reason Hello Again came back is because it was on that album

Calling this a Stand Up revival tour when four songs off of Stand Up have come back and one of them is Hello Again is hilarious. What you're really saying is "this tour would be better if they played Bayou and Stand Up less, and it's weird to see Steady As We Go back". Which is completely true, but can we chill with the melodrama?

in the entire 2016 summer tour, they played stand up songs 30 times, 24 of those being You Might Die Trying.

so far this tour, only 6 shows in, they've already played stand up songs 16 times.

i'm not being melodramatic, i'm just stating the obvious fact that they're going pretty heavy on the Stand Up material this summer. they're on pace to making this the most Stand Up heavy tour since that album's release.

Just saw a pic from last night’s show on IG and Tim is starting to look like the Crypt Keeper from Tales from the Crypt.

Carter is 60 years old. 60! Of course he's lost some stream. He's been slowing down gradually over the past several years. He's altered a lot of his parts to make them less intricate, but that's understandable. The man is simply aging. He's still a beast at this point in his career though.
