Was the theater being strict about make-up and costumes?

Nice! I wouldnít have wanted to be much closer than that because thereís a screen above center stage and Joel and the bots are way off to the right. People in those first few rows must have had a hard time taking everything in.

Rip Taylor has passed away. Even though he was pretty before my time, I’ve been a big fan of his since I was a kid. He was just so self-consciously goofy. I actually saw him as Pseudolous in a production of A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum when I was in college. Yes, he ran through the audience throwing glitter at the end of the show.

Agreed and I hope he wins an Oscar for it. The way he came up with that laugh - it wasn't out of place, it wasn't funny, it wasn't campy. He made it believable. His acting was phenomenal.

When a movie really grabs me and becomes woven into my psyche, I have to dig into the how and why it was created along with all the characters choices. Here's another great interview with the director, but don't watch unless you've seen the movie:

Yeah I really enjoyed El Camino. It wasn’t necessary by any means but it was great for fans. If you’ve never seen the show, it would be confusing, boring and horrible I would say.
