Definitely don’t love seeing B&BB at shows, but I really actually like listening to the SBD of it at home. I think it’s mixed poorly at shows (and therefore on AUDs) because the guitar is great and it barely stands out at shows.

Itís a much stronger song IMO. I think it has a place in the set. It just canít be played between DDTW and Grey St like theyíd normally do

First time listening to BBB in years and I am very confident that will be a great studio track. I was very surprised how much I enjoyed that, although at this point, I donít think Iíd want to hear it live more than once.

Ditto for Bismarck. Reliatened after a long while and that will translate really well to the studio.

Iím also big on Samurai Cop. 3 good to really good songs that should all be good studio songs.

B&BB is just vintage dmb. If that had come from a sdck on 12/7/93 with Dave mumbling 1/2 the lyrics people would cream themselves over it.

Funny how I've never heard folks complain about The Dreaming Tree's wordiness.

Dreaming Tree may have a lot of words, but it flows well. Some of the B&BB lyrics seem a bit forced in spots.

I still think B&BB is one of the better newer songs. I think the sound is classic DMB. It's not an overpowering hard rock 3.0. DMB, but at the same time is not boring as hell like If Only. Thats what I like about it.

I would like it more if it didn’t have words and had mumbling instead actually. The words are eh at best. Tired of Dave’s cliches “end of the world” “got a job that pays me” “don’t cry baby”. Someone should force him to keep those out of everything. I mean the chorus of BBB is basically spaceman.

I know Tom waits wife used to do that. When Tom would write a typical lyric or something she would make him erase it and start over because he was “repeating himself”.

Standing here the old man said to
Long before these crowded streets
Here stood my dreaming tree
Below it he would sit for hours at a time
Now progress takes away what forever took to find

If I could fly at the speed of light
I could get to Canis Major in five thousand years
Butterflies and black and blue birds
Iíll never be the same before I met you

Thatís the big difference. One is poetic, clear and story telling the other I donít even know what the hell its about and it barely rhymes or has any flow to it rhythmically.

Yeah gweeps, sorry bud, but The Dreaming Tree is one of the greatest songs ever written by anyone. It’s not even remotely the same thing.

I'm not saying that BB&B is better than Dreaming Tree, but to me this just sounds like "old Dave good, new Dave bad." Which I don't think is true.

At this point everyone is probably waiting for Dave to finish the shitty coverart. Or maybe it will be a nature shot with a Stefan Lessard water mark this time. Lol

I enjoy the “wordiness” of BBB and Bismarck and think they’re great tunes. Certainly the best of the new batch. SamCop is a perfect example of Dave singing out of range (though I get what he’s driving at and don’t hate the song), Bob Law is fairly cool, Virginia does nothing for me, and I’d be disappointed if DOTHS was on the record.

5 weeks from the start of the tour. I wouldn't be shocked if we don't hear anything until the week of to be honest.

Big Whiskey came out June 2nd and the single came out April 14. By that timeline, if we get the single right as the tour starts then a July release makes sense.

One thing I'm not crazy about with DMB is hearing new songs live before hearing the album version. Specifically when the album is already done. I found myself fairly let down by the studio takes of WIA, Spaceman, BBN, The Riff, and If Only after being acclimated with their live versions first.

I just donít like it because you wind up hearing the album in pieces. By the time it comes out, youíve heard 75% of the songs already.
