Smash Mouth is rightfully a punchline now, but this song will always be legit as hell

This alternate take of Riders on the Storm is wonderful. It's available on the (sigh) 2012 L.A. Woman 40th anniversary set. Disc 2. Not a remaster, just a touched-up studio outtake. It's interesting because we never got a live version of Morrison doing Riders with the band. They did it at least once before their final show in late 1970.

I always hated The Doors. Don't know why....that and Pink Floyd are probably the two bands that you're supposed to love that I just don't get.

i can't say i "hate" Pink Floyd, but yeah i don't get it all. a couple songs aside they're just boring as fuck.

but The Doors... man fuck The Doors. i just think their music is fucking awful.

I would agree in the sense that my dislike of Pink Floyd is more 'eh' than out-and-out dislike. But I also feel like they're overall far more celebrated than The Doors.

true. there's at least a decent amount of people that have disdain for The Doors

eh that's fine. they're my favorite band but i understand people not "getting" it. there's not a lot of hooks and whatnot and they can be pretty challenging to dig in to.

Pink Floyd is definitely a top 5 band for me.
The Who is great.
I don't like the Stones as much as I should, but I still love em.
The Doors are awful.
I'm a casual PJ fan.

Comfortably Numb is probably my favorite guitar solo of all time.

Floyd has a lot of really awesome stuff, hell I even love their early work with Barrett which is basically just fucking odd pop songs.
