Literally the best thing that could have happened to DMB. They all were fairly wealthy already. If 2000 was the last tour, they'd be one of the greatest bands of all time.

The Lillywhite Sessions would have been released within those next couple years anyway, but I'd been fine with the audio recordings only of Grey, Grace, Bartender, JTR, Raven, SUAD, Busted Stuff.

Oh man Dave’s talking about setlists. He said he was gonna play “deep cuts” for the solo show. Not dodging questions.

It's doubtful there is any bad blood, he's quite integral in the Cap$haw-Matthew$s machine.

And during that 3 year span without a DMB album, Matthews basically left the band, formed a new band, recorded an album and went on tour with his friends.

i think its an important reason. That is where their creative process had taken them at that point in time. Songs were killer, the honest feeling from the band was not to stand behind the recordings.

Its the same creative well that brought everything previous. Take it all or leave it, its not piecemealed.

There's no way they would have been done for good in 2000. A hiatus? Sure. But it wasn't going to end. There was way too much money to be made.

I think its a toss up. Boyd had his solo record and tour going on, Dave would've kept playing. They would've come together eventually, sure, but it could have easily turned into ten years.

Itís kinda interesting he went back to the original band, wrote/toured with a new batch of songs and then went in the studio and scrapped them. Again. And put out a terrible album. Again. Why?

He hooked me up with tickets, backstage passes, and every released at that time material(which I had already). It was at a Boyd Tinsley "True Reflections" signing. That said yes he was a douche. I guess so was I. Still it was a nice move. I'm with you I can't believe his power at one time with these guys. Says more about DMB though.

Always been funny to me that he asked “where’s the billies” when Grey Street is LITERALLY the same chords just rearranged. Obviously a much different song, but funny as hell.

Obviously been rehashed and overrehashed, but did he really think ED was an improvement on what he was looking for from the LWS? Baffling.
