The 1996 Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Tour Thread

This is where we will talk about the maiden Dave and Tim tour and all of its glory. If, for whatever reason, you've never checked out any, or all of these shows. Get on it. What are you waiting for? These are some of the best sets ever played. Period.

I've always found it insane that on a 15 date tour three shows were in Iowa. Nothing against Iowa, but c'mon.

About the only thing that was going to get me to take Live Trax 7 off of repeat was a crisp new Dave and Tim source, and, well, Henry and Adam came through. 2-16-96 was put up on dt.org the other day, and it sounds amazing for an analog sourced '96 acoustic set. You should all get on it if you haven't.

Dave plays Say Goodbye (after Recently > Too Much > Recently) for a girl, who appears to be in attendace. Banging coeds, Dave? Though, this is one show after he was drawing pictures and kissing my girlfriend who was 16 at the time, so, it's not a total shocker.

What a great tour.. definitely my favorite D&T tour. So many standout performances from this tour. I love the 2.19.96 show.. great Seek Up, Say Goodbye, plus WotW, Hold Me Down, and Tangerine.

I remember paying north of $60 for a bootleg of the 2/17 UConn show back in '96. It was called "Too Much Fun" or some such nonsense. Those disks got more play than LLC.

2/19 is the first show I ever listened to after I got hooked by Live at Red Rocks. Top 5 ever show in my book DMB, D&T, D&F, Boyd solo, whatever...

yea, it's amazing talking about great shows in this tour because someone can make an argument for almost any show after the 2-8 being the best.

I'm curious as to what makes 96 so much better than the 99 tour. All those shows are outstanding, but I wouldn't say the best because I prefer '99 D+T over them. Mainly for the BTCS I guess, but I feel that Dave And Tim really went all out in '99.

The first thing that comes to mind is Tim wasn't as effects heavy in 96.

Their first and last time playing here at Binghamton. Such a shame that we will never see them here again.
