Yeah they definitely didnít have a large enough rotation of songs in the acoustic sets so they got repetitive.

The two sets format helped the song selection. And we usually got more songs per show. Unfortunately many of the main sets were polluted by the Lovely Ladies nonsense.

Also, it still baffles me why they didn't do Jimi in the acoustic half.

Iím a broken record at this point but I loved the acoustic sets. My best DMB memories post-2009 are more or less in those acoustic sets.

Count me in for someone who enjoyed the two sets format.

It had its flows, and we all know what they were. But we still got much longer shows and more songs per show. And to see/hear them actually changing their sound up significantly was refreshing. Shame they ditched the format. Keeping it up would actually help them pace themselves.

I don’t know... I can remember watching Carter live during the acoustic set and thinking he was trying to sound just as loud. He was killing himself beating the hell out of that kit. It would be cool if they revisited it but I ruin they would have to rethink the approach on several songs.

2014 had some moments but '15 was abysmal. Most of the second sets were absolutely dreadful song-wise. Like below was like slightly above average for the year, and it's nothing special.

SET 2:
Don't Drink the Water
Belly Belly Nice
Black and Blue Bird
#41
So Much to Say Ľ
Anyone Seen the Bridge Ľ
Too Much
Mercy
Jimi Thing
Drunken Soldier
Save Me
You & Me
Stay (Wasting Time)
-----------------------------------
All Along the Watchtower

You & Me is a good song. Perfect filler.

LT3: used to be my favorite LT, and it still has great qualities (unparalleled mix, great vocals, great setlist).

Roi was off, compared to many other later 2000 shows. Super pitchy throughout some of his classic solos. Brought this down a notch on my recent relisten. Donít get me wrong, still a great release, but I feel like I highly overrated it for many years.

I can't find much wrong with LT3 honestly. Sure there are better '00 shows but it's a fantastic show and one of the best mixes they've ever put out. Also Nancies is a rare opener, only opened a full band show 20 times in the band's career (0.65%). Last time it opened was 2014 for acoustic set, or 2013 for a normal show.

Oh yes, plenty of ladies. 2015 still give me chills and nightmares when I think about it.

---You knew with the ladies that Save Me, Stay, You And Me and Rooftop were getting played every night.
---You knew Dave was going to open the show solo with Take Me To Tomorrow or Little Red Bird almost every night
---DOTHS and Be Yourself were brand new and in heavy rotation
--Black and Bluebird was played at 33/47 Shows
--Song Liberations included Smooth Rider and I Did It, and some covers.

Dreadful. Of course every year has a few really good shows, like SPAC N2 2015..but overall 2015 was a literal joke.

At least he didnt open with Sister every night.

I thought Mansfield was pretty good in 2015, and of course the Deer Creek shows looked great but i didnt attend those.

I think this is relatively unpopular but I enjoy Dive In, especially once Dave switched to playing it on guitar.

I think most people are pretty okay with Dive In. There's been 3 different iterations live, and I gotta say, I like all of them uniquely:

2009: Extended verse chords outro (Boyd actually shined on it)
2011: Acoustic first verse, standard length (this built nicely)
2016: Extended chorus chords outro w/Jeff solo (it's always a treat to get a new Jeff solo section)

did dave play piano on dive in? i totally missed that (or forgot)

I also think that its an interesting song because it feels the most "incomplete" as its been through many iterations of ways its been played. lyrics kinda suck though.

No, he never played piano on it. It's a prominent instrument on the studio version, but doesn't feel missing live.

I disagree on the lyrics. I like the sarcasm/twist in the chorus, how it's cheerful musically and lyrically, despite being about the world dying. The verses and bridge are on the nose, but not offensively so to me and the chorus makes up for it.

I've always liked Dive In. Nothing more than that first version played with Boyd and that extended outro.
