Well, someone asked for it on the chat. He probably figured, “what the fuck?.” Dave has always been much more willing to throw bones solo.

I don’t think Dave actually saw it though, the questions went to Leah who then picked a few and asked them during the interview

Agree. He had that sheet music out and ready to go before the whole thing started.

Don't get too excited though, this doesn't mean it's coming back now for good. In fact, I would be shocked if it does.

Oh. My. God. I always hoped, but never thought he’d play it again. He’s been doing a lot of cool things the last few weeks

Wow. It took a corporate gig during a global pandemic with an old lyrics sheet to happen, but I’ll take it!

Copperpot FTW. So nice to hear that verse again. Both of these solo Grey Streets are great listens!

Thank you everyone for the links! This is great.

IF they play this full band, Ill lose it. Listening to him start out, reminded me of his sound from so long ago.

I don’t see his gtr headed into a DI, is there a mic off cam? Didnt sound like it.

Like I excitedly posted in the Vid sticky, fuckin pumped to have that 3rd verse back! You know, at least until he realizes his “mistake.”

Don't know why anyone's thinking about him playing it full band.
We won't hear them play together for like 16 more months anyway.

I'll always envy how fucking good his strumming is.

He also adlibs some words in the third verse, so he’s not just reading the lyrics.

The verse is:
There's a stranger speaks outside her door
Says take what you can from your dreams
Make them as real as anything
It'd take the work out of the courage
But she says, "Please,
There's a crazy man that's creeping outside my door,
I live on the corner of Grey Street and the end of the world"

Dave sings:
Well there's a stranger right outside her door
Says take what you need from your dreams
Make them as real as anything
It'll take all the work out of the courage
But she says, "Please,
There's a crazy man waiting outside my door,
I live on the corner of Grey Street, but it feels like the end of the world"
Last line changed for the times we live in.

The metaphor in the original line is brilliant.

Well done, Dave.

This helped remind me how much I love this song. Gets lost in the "overplayed", "3.0", etc etc, but I love this fucking song.

Same here. I've been basically unable to enjoy it since 2003 because I just get annoyed every time he ditches the 3rd verse.
