Yeah I think Bernie is honest, but I detest socialism. Weíre already getting socialist helicopter money from Trump. To be clear, Iíd prefer helicopter money to bank/airline bailouts. Boeing, especially, deserves bankruptcy

Capitalism without bankruptcy is like Christianity without hell - said by a ceo of a defunct airline. American Airlines deserves to fail after their irresponsible stock buybacks. Boeing allowed planes they knew had a flawed design fly and kill people. It’s not as if the aviation industry will disappear - some other entrepreneur will step in and fill the void. But they’ll get the bailout because this is America. I’m sure we’ll be bailing out hotels like Hilton are already whining too.

As Noam Chomsky has said, it's socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor.

They need to fail. I really hope none of them are bailed out. US Oil is also beyond fucked

So that was what, three months from the initial infections in Huabei to seeing a light at the end of the tunnel?

Yup.

This system is diseased and this disease is exposing the system.

Sounds about right, I think the whole "two weeks" thing in the US is a gross underestimate and I'd feel better if they just came right out and said "everything is canceled through June, let's get through this and see where we're at then."

I’m hoping that this is true and two months is reasonable, but the fact that China expelled a bunch of foreign journalists and then reported that everything is great the very next day makes me suspicious.

Finally a plan big enough to actually make a dent in the damage that's coming:

[Only registered users can see links.]

Basically, just put the economy in suspension. No payments on mortgages, car loans, credit cards, student loans.

No credit reporting or debt collection. No evictions or foreclosures.

Force the Fed to buy state and municipal debt.

Those are the highlights.

And while the House financial committee proposes that plan which will help Americans...

President jackass is buying 30 million barrels of oil that no one wants or needs because we don't leave our houses anymore. But he think about anything except the 1970s.

Excellent. This is what I have been saying from day one. Just hit pause. Our society has paused, all payments should too.

Yes please. Donít send me money, just suspend my obligation to pay money. Individual household bailouts are not the answer. Best case, bail out the employers to secure jobs when this blows over. Sending free money to Americans is a dumbfuck idea
