Well, I'm just looking forward to the next LT release announcement at this point.

Well i looked into it and there isnt a single song in this setlist that wasnt already released in the 6 previous 2007 shows released (including some devil D&T from Radio City). I cant possibly think of a reason to buy this show. Just entirely bizare.
Not only are they all previously released, there aren’t even any great performances on this. Or any that are far superior to the ones we already have. SUAD is nice, but Shotgun is a mess. Which is sad because the SPAC version is so good. Total waste of a release, AND makes it less likely we will ever see the SPAC show. 07 being (imho) their worst tour makes this release the 51/51 for me.

I totally forgot about SPAC 07. That show would be good to have.

I have no idea why they released so much 07 music. The Libson show is a waste, this show is a waste, Piedmont is a bottom of the barrel show and Radio City wasnt even the best show that weekend.

The hollywood Bowl, SPAC, Izod show, and UMass all need releases and they went with this. Just makes no sense when 07 is such a shitty year.

With all that said, i do enjoy LT 42 the WPB show which was a random pull from the year and was a solid release.

A very good question. The tour sucked. But, the lisbon show had the morello tracks, Piedmont had the #40 > Warehouse with the awesome intro. Those are at least tracks that are great to have. This is just a total dog.

Yes. The other 2007 releases at least have one or two redeemable tracks minimum. And LT 42 was a pleasant release.

This one's got nuthin'.

Even for such a mediocre year, Alpine n2 or Hollywood Bowl would’ve been welcomed releases with something different to offer. Again, this LT51 choice is baffling.

Preach brother, that UMass show was hot shit. One of my favorite DM-related experiences ever. Give it to me.

I'm glad we got Radio City. I listened to that Eh Hee a hundred times that summer - a song no other show had.

Also, what's up with the mix of Dave's acoustic guitar? It sounds like it's being run through an electric filter then echoed inside of an aluminum can.

Boyd's solo on Crush starts of fine and then veers into yikes territory for the second half.

Not a bad show to listen to overall, but I agree that there's really nothing on it that stands out.

Edit: The crowd clapping out of sync at the start of ABI is atrocious. Probably a speed-of-sound issue with the speakers and/or mics rather than a true indication of the crowd's lack of rhythm, but it should have been edited out of the mix anyway.

clapping in 3/4 time doesn't work well.

ABI is definitely in 4/4 time.

How so?

Dave notes are on 1, 2, 3, 1... 3. I would even say 6/4 before 4/4

Pretty sure it’s 12/8

Same as a 12 bar blues essentially

No, it's definitely 4/4. The base notes of the riff go B, D, F#, G, then a transitional A back up to the B. Most of the notes are dotted quarter notes, a common Dave syncopation technique.

Counting in eighth notes:

B - 3
D - 3
F# - 3
G - 5
A - 2

3 + 3 + 3 + 5 + 2 = 16 eighth notes, or two measures of 4/4.

Edit: [Only registered users can see links.] - here, listen. A little sloppy but you get the idea. I switch back and forth between playing it like he does and hitting every 8th note so you can hear the counts I wrote above.

Though this is probably why the crowd fails so badly at trying to clap along!

I wonder if there will be any Live Trax releases until the pandemic ends.
