I just would love to hear MacHead simply because it's something else that came out of the sessions for what's generally accepted as their best album. No matter what the quality is it would have zero effect on my view of the record, just would be cool to get a snippet of something from the cutting floor.

I really can't believe they let this one pass by. I suppose Boyd being Boyd didn't help.

I can believe it. Another thumb in the eye to the older fans isn’t going to be a surprise to me at this point.

I mean they did UTTAD and Crash. It is a surprise they have put off BTCS, which is why I also believe the Boyd drama had something to do with it.

It is possible Crash didnt sell as well as UTTAD so they decided to hold off until 25 for BTCS. Or, they didnt want to saturate the market with vinyls of BTCS so only Josh would have Machead.

That's it, Sir.
I understand.

They released Come Tomorrow instead of acknowledging BTCS's 20th. It's the whole forget everything you know - this is the best album ever new release cycle crap with the addition of Dave admitting he no longer cares, party band that sounds the best it has since the shoot with Julia Roberts blah blah. There's also whatever apparent tension with Lillywhite. I found Dave's comment on his sobriety a little off putting considering what they put up with from Boyd for who knows how long? Dave has some weird thing going on where he dislikes his honest, personal work but we should all know that by now.

Maybe you missed it, but Dave acknowledged BTCS as the band's best work ever on Sirius.

I don't know why the band didn't do a 20th anniversary vinyl release, but maybe there was a good reason (maybe they didn't simply because the album had already been released on vinyl). Or because of the Boyd stuff. Or because 2018 was focused on CT (which I don't think is really so unreasonable).

Yeah, they definitely know how good BTCS is - that's undeniable. Stefan always says it too.

Boyd & Come Tomorrow are likely to blame for the delay, and I'm certain we will get some sort of re-release eventually.

This is a reasonable take. The idea that Dave personally is holding this up is not.

Yesterday was the 22nd anniversary. Their socials posted about it, a lot of comments asking where the reissue is. Maybe a good way for them to generate some revenue this year.

there is good $$$ to be made with a LWS reissue. Ideally you would have Steve remaster it somehow (I'm no engineer) - though more likely you'd have Alagia or someone else that is in good graces with the band currently. You package up a deluxe set w/LP, CDs, a nice book with essays from the band/photos from the sessions - maybe even a DVD if there was any making of footage. Put a few hundred dollar price tag on it and release. I'd hit that.

Dave is way too much of a wuss to do something like that though.
