Synch II would rock, but somebody needs to get Butch on the phone to do that one.

Here's one I could see them doing. It even has a violin part that Boyd couldn't possibly fuck up.

I spent most of my youth assuming that song was by Peter Gabriel.

I'm surprised we haven't see a bunch of Grateful Dead covers all these years...

I don't think they're big Dead fans. They did that EOTW cover after Jerry's passing out of respect and acknowledgment of the debt they owed, but that's about it.

Yup, Not Fade Away/Going Down The Road Feeling Bad would be an awesome cover for this band

they seem to only cover songs from bands they like, so it's not surprising at all.

Good call by JimBeam41....and the avatar isn't half bad either.

I'd really like the band to take a singer/songwriter like Croce, Denver, Cat Stevens, Prine etc. and flesh out one of their tunes. I grew up on that shit driving with my dad and I always attributed my love for DMB to those sounds.

Jim Croce - Mississippi Lady
John Denver - Eagles and Hawk (make this into a ABI like jam)
Cat Stevens - 18th Avenue or Oh Very Young
Prine - Saddle in the Rain

Yeah, a John Prine song would be awesome.

I think someone mentioned Boyd being a bit of a Dead fan, way back. Maybe I'm making that up. Maybe Butch was, too, since he threw in that "Shakedown Street" interpolation on a Sugar Will that one time. But yeah.

Stupid cover ideas that could actually sound cool

Boyd mentioned the Dead during a show. I think it was the Big league chew one

Something a long the lines of, "We're going to take back you to the Dead Shows at Chappel Hill with this one" before Tripping Billies.
