BTCS 20yr Anniversary

Have there been any rumblings about the BTCS 20th anniversary? I'm hoping for some outtakes from the session(s), but after UTTAD and Crash, I'm worried it will be limited.

I wouldn't doubt that it'll be similar to the others. I'd love an early "Leave Me Praying" or something like that, if it was ever put to tape before the finished product. Or maybe extended cuts of the "commercials?" I'd hope there's at least a few gems to come out of this one, when it happens.

The new album will probably be right around the BTCS date.

Nothing yet, but it's not even close to 2018 yet. I'm sure there will be a newly mastered release put out like they did for the other albums but like others have said, I'm really only interested in bonus stuff that might be packaged with it. I'd love to hear some tracks we've never ever heard before that didn't make the cut etc.

We know that these songs were all recorded but didn't make it:

Help Myself, Don't Burn The Pig, Get In Line, #40, Machead. And i'm sure there might be other snippets of incomplete ideas or songs they have as well. Who knows. But I'd be happy to get any of those...even a re-mixed Help Myself or early takes of "Pig" before it really became the "Pig" on the album.

That Help Myself has been released though so it would be unfortunate if that took up one of the outtake spots.

Didn't Lillywhite (or someone else) say at one point that Machead was worked on but abandoned before it was ever recorded?

No, there is a finished version. Jake from Ants has even heard it!

Didn't he supposedly drive across the country to hear it?

Aside from getting a vinyl pressing of the same quality that Crash got, we need MacHead. That alone would be enough to satisfy me (even if it turns out a letdown), simply because it's the white whale in many ways. Been talked about so much over the years and nobody even really has an idea of what it sounds like aside from what the name implies

Yea, I'd finally like to be able to put this little DMB legend to bed...

I feel like there is no way that Machead will be nothing but a giant let down. And I'm one of the more positive people around here.

Yeah, but it's on a soundtrack. Would be handy to have it collected on a bonus disc of outtakes.

I'm pretty sure it was Florida to Brooklyn but who knows how he made the trip. Or if it even happened.

Absolutely. If they had just told us it was a turd or let us hear some of it over the last 25 years, maybe we would feel differently. But them saying nothing and the Jake story and all that, the legend has just grown too much.

Oh I know but with everyone having their music digitally, just label it however you want. Tack it on to whatever bonus disc they do release.

Oh of course, there's no way it would live up to the hype. Especially if it turns out they ended up working it into a song we already currently hate. But we will all go crazy until we actually get to hear it.

Agreed, but maybe there's an alternate take or mix at least that would be interesting if they did go that route. I'd love to hear what #40 sounds like, was it at all full band? Were the lyrics more set in stone?
