I remember reading that a couple years ago it was up to 100k, but that statistic could have been wrong though.

Got started on AmI. Sad to see it go. Lots of good people there.

It's really interesting to listen to a version of "Rhyme & Reason" from early 1993. The song was completely different then.

DMB Song Write-ups.

I think since we have a long offseason ahead, we should bring this idea back.

Peter joined in August '91 and Boyd in May '92, so the original lineup was Dave, Carter, LeRoi, and Stefan. Boyd did guest with the band a lot before he (and before Peter) officially joined, though.

I know we've all heard dave played over the speakers at stores and stuff, but it's usually Stay or Crash or something. Today at the grocery store they played Dodo. I was quite surprised. Anybody ever hear that song played somewhere? Also, it's been awhile since I've heard the studio version, I almost forgot it had horns Why the hell hasn't DMB taken a shot at it?

I dont think people on AM.org listen to tapes. When a thread is made about favorite versions of a song, it's always released versions being mentioned.

So...TDC, what is your favorite version of The Stone?

09/18/00, 08/01/09, 05/24/98, the 98 one with Bela, Live trax 8, and 09/10/00 (or most any other sep-fall tour 00 ones) are my favorites.

If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably the one with Bela Fleck.

There's a '99 one with Bela that I think is better than the '98 one (if memory serves me well)

There's just something about the rawness in the 98 one that I really like. The 99 one is a top version too, for sure.

the stone from 5-31-98 is fairly unique. it's still in it's live infancy and dave busts a string towards the end prompting a "maybe i should take up the tuba, no strings to fuck up on the tuba..." improv at that part where they now do Wise Men

Lots of good Stones. 7/1/08 will probably be the stand-out for me forever.
