Just food for thought here, but what is the list of DMB 3.0 positives?

Eh, we're a little mad right now. All they have to do is one thing right again and we'll be back on board, like the battered wives of this band that we are.

Overall positives for me-

2008
Spring 2009
AFTW

That's pretty much it for me at this point. I have absolutely no faith in this next record, but I sure hope it is good. If I like it, then I'll start seeing shows again if they... you know... actually play the songs

Have you listened to Fall 2010? There's some good moments there.

No doubt.....11.6.10 was one of my favorite shows in the past decade.

And yes, 11.9 was possibly my favorite show I've been to.

I really should go back and check it out. I saw Philly that tour, and it was a really great time. Stone opener, BOWA, and of course a monster Last Stop. I haven't gone back and listened to it though because that has sometime spoiled my memories of the shows. A good example is Hershey '06... incredible set, had a blast, but when I listened to the tape... meh.

Yeah.....I avoid tainting my memories of sets for that reason. That being said and since you're a Philly guy, if you were at 6/29/13 (Camden, N2), I highly recommend it. Copperpot has a video on youtube and it's an all-around great show.

I was so pissed off that year that AFTW was dropped that I sold my tickets to the show. I got a call a few hours before N1 from an old friend who told me he bought me a ticket as a birthday gift. I was at the show, had a good time, but not enough to go to N2. I clearly remember thinking that they were setting N2 up to be one hell of an incredible set too since they got a lot of shit out of the way N1.

Ugh. I really fuckin wish I had gone. Nothing I haven't seen before, but that was a really nice setlist. My buddy called me at 1:00 AM after he checked the setlist literally screaming "WE ARE MORONS"

Stuff That Doesn't Need Its Own Thread (DMBc Version)

DMB made the AV Club's Least Essential Albums of the year list for the UTTAD vinyl reissue. Which, considering how it turned out, is pretty hard to argue with.

Agreed. Also:

-I like some of the horn lines they harmonize on (Billies jam and JTR to name very few)
-SMLAM (although overplayed and in the wrong spots)
-FTT and So Right are ragin'
-some acoustic set stuff
-Spaceman
-Tim, duh
-love Roi, but Captain sounds better to me now with Tim
-Hello Again is slightly better 3.0 for me (again pointing at Tim and Dave too actually) Just wish they'd PLAY the fucker
-I know I could think of more

Unrelated to the versions of the band, but lights/video seem to be far more detailed and elaborate in the 3.0 era. Probably money, experience, and Fenton's boredom with similar designs

From the article:

"Dave Matthews may have grown a devoted legion of jam-band fans since his original breakout, but a $40 vinyl reissue of Under The Table And Dreaming reads less like the fulfilled desire of Dave devotees and more like an artist trying to make a quick buck off his past work."

Wow, wait until they find out Jimmy Page is re-issuing Zepellin albums for $125 each. I'm sure they'll rip him a new one.

Isn't $40 a reasonable deal for a vinyl re-release? It seems like a perfectly fine price if the vinyl package is done well. Cheap, even?
