Another $1 find.

Sarah McLachlan ‎Ė Afterglow

A couple great albums for a couple bucks. Can't go wrong with that.

My wife got me a record player for Christmas! So I went to the record store today and got this used, but plays flawlessly, which I had on CD but lost, and it's way out of print and not streaming on Spotify.

Yeah, that’s a tough comp to find. Nice get! I don’t think I’ve even seen a copy of that in 20 years.

I also treated myself.

Waiting to listen until January 1st when they count toward 2019 and after I have to drug test.

Ugh. Day 29 which included Christmas with family...

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart might not be the last band I would expect to do a full-album cover of a Tom Petty album, but they’re close to the bottom of that list. It’s also not the worst thing I could have imagined. But it’s also not great.

Speaking of Full Moon Fever, this is a fantastic set from Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers on Halloween 2009 where they came out dressed as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and played full moon fever backwards: [Only registered users can see links.]

Gonna go back to that flea market tomorrow and see if all those classical CDs are still there for a buck a piece. If so I will probably buy a few. Why not if they're in good condition? I need to expand my classical music tastes. Even if they're compilations, there's bound to be stuff I haven't heard yet.
