It's not the Carter Beauford Mathews Band.

Dave gets final word.

I'd love a dressed up album version of Bob Law. Someone was luke warm about Sugar Will being on the album? no, we are all 100% behind that.

Dream - as a long time fan the way to get me to be excited and go see multiple shows for my old, burnt out band would be to have stellar music.

We shall see.....

Well maybe it's that way now, but they picked this name because they were lazy, Dave is not king.

What could go wrong when you throw the two laziest musicians in a band in a room and have them create new music?

I think the clearest message to come out of this piece of news is that Dave still doesn't care for Stefan.

Also hasn't been played in 2017. Just sayin

So what.. Record in Oct/Nov.. Release.. Feb.. I think that's a realistic time frame with the holidays to get a full album recorded, mixed, mastered and then the press that goes with releasing a new album.

I bet Mexico gets the first taste of the new songs.

Song gets some hate but that jam at the end of the first version was magnificent. I'll fucking listen to that shit all day long.

On a more series note, I have to agree he sounded pretty confident in that timetable for the new album. Would make sense with a new tour.....but I haven't listened to those new songs since last year, so if no album, no sweat off my sack.
The problem is that Dave always says stuff like that in interviews that doesn't end up panning out. Makes sense with the tour and everything especially coming off of a break/hiatus year..you almost need a new record to fuel promotion and ticket sales. BUT, we all know the band tours every single year regardless whether they have a new album or not, so who knows. Would be nice to at least get something, even if it's not a full album..maybe just drop 3 singles (virigina, Samurai, etc.) whatever is considered "done". I don't think they need to nessecarily boxed into putting out a full album anymore. The days of full albums is slowly fading away.

It's a realistic timeframe to do everything but lyrics. That's what's held up the past two albums and Dave hasn't gotten any better in that department

I was assuming that between the new songs with Carter and the previous songs the band has recorded/played live, they have the album written.. Or at least 90% written.

If songs still need lyrics or heavy editing, it'll be a spring release for sure.

I bet they are much further along with alot of songs that we think. I mean the amount of studio work they have on the shelf has to be 30-40 songs at this point, no? honestly probably more.

Obviously Dave can always (and probably will) decide to do mostly completely new stuff, but at any given moment this band could throw together an album with stuff they've worked on over the years fairly quickly I'd imagine. They just haven't wanted to do that.

I have to imagine he takes material he's psyched about on the road to try it out/show it off. He took Be Yourself and DOTHS on the road. If that was the shit he was psyched about, we're in for a pile of crap.

If that's the case then he quickly got UN-PSYCHED about Be Yourself shortly after.
