I don't listen to live shows that much so I don't think so. Those are songs I like as is, getting more play wouldn't affect my opinion on the album overall. And BBN is actually one of my favorite tracks believe it or not. I know it got overplayed live but I was seeing 2 shows a year so it doesn't bother me. I think it's a really fun song and the sax/violin breakdown on the album is vintage DMB. I just think looking back at the album for me it starts and ends strong but the middle does not deliver. It's about 50/50 for tracks I like vs tracks I'd be fine never listening to again

BBN and Shake Me feel like the same song to me. Hate both.

Just that obnoxious trumpet blast sound is like the worst part of DMB 3.0. Not my cup of tea.

Songs didn't develop live. Don't care anymore. Doesn't detract from the album for me. I still really like it.

The point you're missing is that OOMH is dogshit. People are perfectly fine with quiet songs that don't suck.

Out Of My Hands was one of my favorites at 11/30/12

Yeah I never understood why anyone really likes it. I think it's the worst piano song in the catalog, by a lot. At least Death On The High Seas has an interesting chord progression, but it's also down there. OOMH sounds like a hip hop chord progression. The lyrics bother me too, a little overtly political for my taste

Secondly, the actual placement of songs like OOMH in the set DO make a difference in how they are perceived and that's been where Dave has failed the most imo. A song like that CAN be enjoyed as a quiet, intimate moment if it's placed right in the show...but it rarely ever is. It's always put before or after a chunk of subpar/mediocre songs and just tears the energy right out of the place. I always thought the piano songs (OOMH, DOTHS, Virginia, Mercy etc.) would be far better in either the E1 slot or after 2-3 heavy hitters.

Lie In Our Graves
Crush
So Much To Say >
Too Much
Out Of My Hands

IS miles and miles better than

Cornbread
Everyday
Save Me
Mercy >
Out Of My Hands
That is what I was saying. Song placement and what not in a set makeup are separate from the intrinsic value of the individual song. A personal preference of the flow of a show is widely varied as are the likes and dislikes in music.....but as I was saying, in a general sense in the DMB community, these factors have become hand in hand and have created an unfair judgement of the music.

Mercy > OOMH was the worst part about 2012 I think. I like both songs live too. But back to back (and knowing OOMH might becoming when Mercy starts) ruins both.

Agreed.

I like the little tacked on jam at the end of Mercy live, I think it could have been taken places. I remember really liking [Only registered users can see links.] live, but admittedly I don't think I've ever listened to it since the show, gonna have track that down.

I enjoyed OOMH in 2008. Tim's additions were good, vocals were just enough without going overboard, and song placement was generally pretty good.
