I have no problem with any band getting paid and taking these relatively easy greatest hits gigs for big quick cash. I have a problem with Dave Matthews doing it because it makes him a hypocrite. I expect more from him because I have invested a big portion of my life into this band and bought into all the shit dave claimed to hold important to him. Realizing he's just like every other dude on the block is a little disheartening. This and the microsoft gig just forces home all the shit I have been a sucker not to see in plain sight for the last ten years.
i'm pretty sure almost every band who does corporate gigs does it "under the covers". it's not exactly "rock and roll".

i understand your frustration if dave's politics and views were a big part of what drew you to this band. thankfully for me it was just the music and i don't give a shit what dave is really like so long as he writes a good tune.

"Don't worry, I bought some carbon credits brah."
i agree this is a hypocritical thing that a lot of bands now have fallen into. rage against the machine maybe the most of all.

People shit on Capshawn. DMB is an empire and yes Capshaw help build that but Dave is the head of DMB and DMB camp. He can turn anything down he pleases. Let's not make this a Capshaw thing.

No Capshaw, No Band. And either way, them playing some gig you don't agree with isn't going to all of a sudden make you start hating your favorite songs.

When was the last time dave turned any gig down though? I would say for the most part Dave is just in it for the money now. Did Capshaw make him this way? who knows.

Also, the important thing to look at here, is the band is still playing. Do some people have the right to be angry? Of course they do, but should it push them further away from the band after all the hardcore fan-base( if you post on here you are hardcore to me) has been through? absolutely not.

Actually, I'm sitting here now mulling this over in my head and it just hit me: Two Step is pure bullshit! How have I wasted so much time on this band? I need to find a band that isn't interested in making money and, while I'm at it, one with a drummer that's actually good.

I would definitely consider my girlfriend and I hardcore. No doubt. Not afraid to admit it.
