Flying in Saturday morning, flying out Tuesday so just there for the long holiday weekend. Nah, no shows...we've been wanting to visit for a few years now and got great deals on flights and a killer hotel so we pulled the trigger.

Yeah missing storms but also looks like high 80s instead of usual high 90s

Ahh, gotcha. I thought I had heard that the rain was going to continue throughout this entire week, no?

So you're in Austin then?

Oh wow, sounds like we dodged a bullet then. Thanks for the update.

Ahh very cool. We're looking forward to getting there, it's been on our list for a minute now.

Hopefully, your friends and family are all OK.

The entire west coast is on fire and all the smoke has rolled into Colorado. It's been brutal here - messing up my head big time. Sore throat, messed up sinus, etc. I'm trying to camp this weekend but I'm not sure that's a great idea.

To say the least, I was sweating like Shaq at the foul line all weekend long especially since we walked everywhere. Fun town though...super nice people for sure.

You know what season I used to really love?

Fall.

I wonder what happened to that season, New York has had the shittiest weather this year. Didn't even crack high temps this summer for more than a day or two. Then it went from 80 degrees to 40 and its going to pound down to 24 degrees this week.

It was the same here. We basically had about two weeks of fall foliage. It just went from summer to winter.

I think this entire side of the country went from "Green Leaves" to "Nothing" in the span of a week or two. I remember walking around on halloween and the leaves were just starting to turn over. Then that blizzard hit and everything is dead.

Still a week away from the holiday lighting making things slightly less miserable until a day or two after new years as well.

I mean I guess we are in better shape than California thats just a fireball, but still, its fucking cold.

It’s crazy how both sides of the country are experiencing opposite weather conditions. Fire on the west. Snow in the east.

Yeah its a pretty insane situation across the board, I have some friends who live in LA / SF and have been getting pretty regular updates on the smoke covering mountains and what they have to drive through. We might freeze and not have real seasons anymore but at least we don't have to deal with that.

That being said we do have to deal with the MTA + Weather making the MTA worse in NYC so I think wildfires are almost a fair trade off.
