Tours (months) Worthy of Box Set

This topic came up in another thread, but I think it deserves it's own discussion.

Looking back on the history of the band, which periods of time most deserve a box set? Fall 98 is always the one people seem to list first, but I think there are a few others that deserve attention as well.

June 1997
November/December 1998
September 2000
June 2008

One that I think is a dark horse is the VFC 04 tour.

I am sure there are others, but this seems like the most widely agreed upon list. If we had to pick just one, is it Fall 98?

On top of what you listed, which would all be on my list:

December, 2000
April, 2002
June, 2004 (Love those early versions of the new tunes)
June, 2010 (Lots of classics returned)

June 2010 was a great time for me as a fan. I saw so many shows that year chasing a number of those songs they debuted. I almost wanted to list that one, but I am 100% biased.

September 2000
2011 Caravans
June 1997
July 1999
June/July 2010

To name a few. I know we got LT 47 from June 1997 but that run with the Flecktones was incredible.

Yes, to all those....but we don't need those AT&T Pep Rally shows, just give us IZOD '07 and we're good.

Nice call, the Caravans would be nice to have, in full.

Im surprised to see May 2016 or Spring 2009. For 2016, I dont remember that being that amazing other than the new songs (bismark) that made Come Tomorrow. Am I misremembering something?

For Spring 2009, I think since we have that LT35 theres not much else I feel like needs to be released. I think SPAC N2 was good, but if you go back and listen to the BW bonus disc, most of those performances of the new songs are pretty boring.

The first few shows of Spring, 2009 were pretty good:

MSG, IZOD, JPJ x2

And to me, no single month+ after the Caravans is worth releasing.

Those were in November. I winked because October 2007 was just Hollywood Bowl.

2013 is highly praised around here. July and August seem to have some good shows, But i was unimpressed with the Camden show that was released. Seemed like an AFTW / Some Devil show for some reason.

wow, I just realized I was getting 2013 confused with the 2010 tour. Might have to make an adjustment to my list

There are some really interesting sets sprinkled through 2013. For example:

Agreed. that looks like a cool show. I also am very familar with the 3-4 shows where Crazy Easy was played that summer. I think it was 7/23, 24 and 27. They are all good versions of CE and the shows around it were very interesting setlist wise. I feel like after the band took a beak in August the setlists got rather boring / not as great as that couple week run.

Ah, yes! As long as Bartender from the night before is on a bonus disc, I'm in!

No mention of August '95 yet?

September '03 would probably be sweet.

July '04 or October '04 would be good, though there would be some issues (July '04 might seem to repetitive, October '04 might seem to short).

Of course I agree with the OP's first choices as well.

IZOD '07 is my most desired at this point. I've seen over 100 shows. There was something real special about this one.

Only challenge id put against August 95 is that we now have 3 shows from that month. Similarly we have a few from Fall 98 but some of the big ones (12.3, 12.5, 12.7) still remain unreleased.
