Saw my first DMB show 23 years ago today.

Dave still wore pajama pants. Dave still played a Chet Atkins. Boyd hadn't raped anyone. Glen Ballard still hadn't given them charts. Tim was still a rare guest and kept it light and unobtrusive. Roi was still blessing us with his improvised magic. This band still wouldn't replace Peter on the keys until the following year (which would go on to be my favorite iteration of the band). This band has changed a lot. We all have too. It's fun to look back and revisit those memories.

Happy Independence Day, everyone.

Park City, UT. What a cool place to see a show I would imagine.

The fact we only have 2 full band releases from ‘97 is criminal. They should 100% make a new ‘97 show one of the Drive Ins.

Do you remember it pretty well still or no? Assuming you do since it was tour first show.

I was 14 at the time so I don't remember it like yesterday, but I remember the two step intro and leave me praying fairly vividly. I also remember people in the crowd shooting bottle rockets and horse mounted security.

My first was Maple Leaf Gardens winter '98. I was in high school, my mom won a radio contest - first row seats, limo to the show, dinner and meet and greet with Dave. Only time I've met him. I was 18.
