Not a chance that Lillywhite butchered Cry Freedom.

Great source. Awesome tape. Aborted my download of the first upped torrent to download yours. I can't wait to give the entire show a listen later.

This Cry Freedom is GOLD

The studio version is a masterpiece.

I'm not even a huge fan of early full band peformences. Thought they were too fast, and I never liked Carters entrance. Definitley prefer the slower pace throughout.

This SPAC version is great

The Rutabaga Studio version is cool too. It is so haunting. I do like the song live though but I have to agree with you that nothing beats that Studio version. I think I started a thread about it even.

Did you see that version with just LeRoi and Dave that I posted earlier in the 6.5.10 thread? That one is fantastic.

Here's a '99 version for comparison. Love what Boyd does towards the end. They stopped playing it for over 2 years after this one....

BTW is that just a different colored chet or is it a different brand of guitar? He used it a bit in '99....

if jeff's not going to play on this, then dave and tim should do it by themselves.

again, it's really about how interested THEY are in playing it. It's an awesome tune, but like I've said before, they've been doing this for 20 years and are probably tired of quite a few of our favorites
