Not surprisingly, since the Betty boards they're sourced from are maybe her best recordings, the June 1976 box set sounds fantastic. The 3 Help>Slip>Franks in the set are worth it alone. Not to mention Might as Wells, Mission in the Rain, Cosmic Charlie, etc. Good tour.

This video of the riots at Deer Creek surfaced recently. Must have been a crazy scene in the last few years. [Only registered users can see links.]

I'm listening to 2/28/69. Such great performances! I'm thinking of diving into some of the newer box sets next.

It's tough to listen to Dear Mr. Fantasy when you don't have Brent's vocals in your ear.

No I have not. Cannot find a way to buy it legitimately from any of the usual digital outlets...nor by illegitimate means.

Did anyone watch this live? I just started it, will have to pick back up later tonight, but pretty cool so far.

On another note, drummerkrf told me about this book, which I got for Christmas and just now started reading it, and it's great so far. I'm connecting two important things in my life to it and will post about it later.

Have been listening to GarciaLive 14. I’ve always loved Garcia and Kahn, and actually used to listen to the 27th show a lot. Something just sounds off with Jerry’s voice on this. Still enjoying it, though. This has been a really solid series.

Can someone recommend some cool shows from the early 80s? I'm not really into the sound too much, but I've downloaded a the Scarlet Begonias > Touch of Grey > Fire on the Mtn sequence from 7/3/84 and liked it. Any great songs or seques to check out? Probably not going to grab a full show (as I said, I don't love the sound) but thought it'd be fun to check out some auds on the archive and grab some songs.
