Iím in Prague now. I find it interesting that the restaurants here consider 10% a generous tip and donít even seem to fully expect a tip.

I’ve never fully understood why restaurants get to have their customers pay their employees.

Also, in Portland they are raising the minimum wage for servers to $15 an hour or whatever.. Restaurant owners are raising their prices to cover the wages, and I’m pretty sure I’ll still be required to tip 20% on top of my meal that just went up 20%. I just want to remove tipping from the equation #oldmanshakesfist

There are restaurants popping up that have eliminated tipping. I know of at least 1 in Louisville and a couple in Northern Kentucky

That is what the owners said theyíd do if the minimim wage increased, but I was skeptical. Hopefully they do.

Am I shitty tipper? You tell me, I just bought a new queen size bed with adjustable frame. The two guys that set up the frame and brought in the mattress and took away the old mattress and bed frame each received a $10 tip from me. Is that a shitty tip for a job that took maybe 10 minutes total?

No, thatís a solid tip. Especially these days when most people donít even carry cash anymore. Iíd say those guys get tipped at less than 10% of their deliveries.

I love tipping. Back as a waiter and bartender I definitely made more money due to tips. I would much rather have the opportunity to earn tips rather than have a fixed wage with no tipping allowed. Getting rewarded with a good tip definitely incentives serves to give better service and that's something I support.

Vape and the local "random af single can beer" stores piss me the fuck off with that shit. Honestly most stores that use those fucking flip around iPad things and turn it around to the tip screen that make you feel like an asshole for hitting "No Tip".

I'm like dude you handed me a bottle of something or scanned a Barcode.

I worked at the Apple Store as a Lead Genius and it always makes me feel like if I was to turn my easypay around to have them sign for a cracked screen payment and there was a "tip" screen before they got their phone back.

God. My father worked in the service industry so I totally get the need for tipping but that crap takes it to far so everyone feels entitled to an extra payout for doing their jobs.

Itís kind of cultural. In Japan there is no tipping but the service is 10x better. Go figure
