Take a listen to that 7/28 forum show. Best show of tour so far, and this band is always a momentum band. Some real nice stuff in that show, itís the first show of the summer that has any kind of replay value so far.

You're 100% right and DMB mixes it up more than anyone that's even close to being as mainstream as them. But it does show that it's certainly "capable" for a band to play a shitload of different songs and that DMB could realistically do that too. Of course they do have "hit" songs that will always be repeated often, but the catalog is still wide enough for them to play well over 100 songs per tour (especially because they play double the amount of shows that Phish does) but have never done so.

It was more to give perspective to let him know he doesn't have to worry about hearing many repeats if any at all.
phish has also played 10 shows so far this summer, and DMB has played 40(ish?)

dmb fans need to not be so defensive about the band being boring. it's always been like this.

Yeah good point. Even the beloved tours like '04 were incredibly stale in terms of songs--almost the same 50 something songs played all tour, the big difference is they all were good ones.

I'm actually surprised how much Phish is repeating, almost no repeats the first 7 shows and now the last 2-3 shows have had very little tour debuts compared to usual for them.

We got a little spoiled with the Bakerís Dozen- this tour feels fairly normal so far.

That said, Inglewood and Austin were meh

So as with the Dead, I’m trying to get into Phish these days as well. My cousin recommended that I start with Halloween ‘94 (White Album in its entirety). Is this a good show to start with?

It's a fantastic all-time show for sure, but I'm not sure that's where I'd start at all. I would listen to "A Live One", start with that. That has really solid live versions of most of their most well-known tunes.

The first thing I ever listened to when I got into Phish was a Camden '04 show someone gave me. Instantly I was hooked on the sound, and that's their worst year by far. The next thing after that was Halloween '98, I absolutley fell in love with that Set I and played that disc over and over again for years.

Ok they just turned it up to a whole new level. Alpharetta N1 is absolute killer. Easy best show of the tour so far. Firing on all cylinders.

Band members are doing programming on the Phish Radio station. Nice.

No surprise there, Phish actually is involved and doesn't just slap their name on it like a certain band....

Perhaps a Phish binge is beginning. Grabbed all the shows so far this morning. Randomly decided to start with 7/27 and digging the Blaze On > DwD right now.

Yeah this whole run got me really excited for Camden now. When first set jams ensue, it's go time. Alph N1 was fantastic, but N2 also has some key highlights, that first set Chalkdust might get overlooked but it's smoking, same with that Wolfman's.
