Sounds drunk and stressed out because she spent too much money on a trip that kind of mildly wasn't a worthwhile experience, she might be in financial shit as a result of it.

Not a great time but its nothing you did. I've had some crazy ass late night guilt trips / emotional breakdowns / "WHY ARENT YOU HELPING ME" moments in the past with women and it ends up just being something that's going on in their lives in the moment.

It honestly sounds like you two have been having a decent time together, but she also may be a bit dramatic and unsure about her own position in life.

I hope I’m wrong, but this girl sounds like a bag of trouble to me.

Not sure this helps, but here's something I've gathered through my experiences...

Sometimes, as a man, we hear a woman say..."I need you to solve this problem for me", and so we try to go solve that problem (i.e. go get the general managers number). In reality, what they are saying is..."I want you to be emotionally there for me right now, I don't expect you to solve this problem for me." Very confusing, I know. In any case, I could totally see her being upset that you would want to get off the phone if she is crying/visibly upset about a situation...EVEN IF it was to go "solve the problem" SHE ASKED YOU TO SOLVE! Sometimes they just need you to hear them out and help them understand what is going on and let them know it will all be ok. Maybe then you can help solve the problem, if that still make sense after she calms down.

God, I can't believe I'm trying to type out the mind of a woman...it's pretty much impossible, being a man. Having said that, I've found the above to be true and helpful to keep in mind during meltdown situations...

Diggin a Ditch and Captain from the LWS are two great sad bastard songs.....put them on this morning driving to work and it helped with my state of mind to be in the company of another sad bastard.

LWS Grace is Gone is even better in that vein IMO.

Also not sinking into my usual self pity I hate my life spiral after an injury was a pretty major win for me. Last year I dislocated my shoulder and wound up kinda hooked on painkillers for a bit and didnít leave my house for weeks aside from when I absolutely had to go back to work.

I honestly think deciding to just move past it and distracting myself with bullshitting around here and laughing about dumb stuff helped a lot.
Glad to hear that you're able to work through the shit.

ok. Shes back from said trip. She was showing me pictures and showed me a picture of her with the guy she was with.

1. I'm far more attractive than him.
2. She said "this is my buddy I went to the event with".

I'll forever picture her as Mary Elizabeth Ellis.

But yeah, take it easy with her and play it cool. And don't put all your eggs in one basket.....you do you, the rest will fall into place.

well this post has nothing to do with anything I've posted before about any particular person at work. (edit: seriously, just had to put that in because I know that from an outsider looking in that is what I'd think)

But when I moved to the Louisville area to work at this hotel, my biggest fear was having to deal with rich, snobby assholes all day. I knew it was coming but I just accepted it. And from when I started last August until May it was almost non existent. Sure you got the occasional asshole but I did at Home2 and Hyatt Place as well. I got them when I worked at Best Buy and Panera Bread and everywhere else.

But then the kentucky derby happened. That was a great weekend. I made a ton of money, and there was exactly one asshole. And he never said a word to me. So I was good. Since then guests checking in have just been awful. Like literally the worst people. I've been called every name you can think of. Every insult you can think of. It's just been hell. Only 4 days left until I'm out.

ANd tonight I just fucking broke. I had to talk to possibly the worst guest ever. And it wasn't even him. He put me right on the edge. THen the next asshole that walked up to me just broke me. I mean broke me. I walked into the back office and punched a file cabinet as hard as I can and just yelled "I can't do this anymore!" I went and sat in the bathroom and just sobbed for a few minutes.

Came back and my boss grabbed me and walked me outside to talk. He's a shitty boss but a cool guy, so he was legit trying to help. I just broke down and started screaming and started kicking a wall. He sent me home. So that is where I am...

4 more days.

I hope I'm not bringing up a sore subject, but I'm genuinely curious about what happened with the waitress. I was rooting for you. : ) If you still like her maybe this would be a good time for one final grand gesture, because if it doesn't go well at least you wouldn't have to see her again.

Man, it may sound simple, but you really shouldn't let people get to you like that. Them being an asshole is their problem. They may try to make it yours, but it isn't.

Noam Chomsky once said, about all the negative correspondence he gets, "People are hurricanes". How do you stop a hurricane? You can't change its mind. A hurricane is a force of nature. So you take precaution to avoid one as much as you can.

In your case, you just have hope on your side, and when an asshole appears the only solution is to put on a smile and wait for the asshole to pass, like a hurricane you view from a distance, knowing your home is nearby and you are helpless if the wind goes in that direction.

Your smile is your raincoat. You'll still get wet, but at least you're still standing to tell the tale.
