I'm not trying to lead this into an economic argument, but isn't this kind of cringey the fact that so many bands are doing free streams, etc and Dave shows up two weeks later with an event that is "sponsored" by Verizon? Like he couldn't have done this on his own?

That doesn't matter one bit to me.

Dave played the show in NYC, did kimmel and is now doing a mini set. What more do you want from him?

This. It's all for a good cause, same for Kimmel.

But yes, Dave could theoretically go online and play sets on DMB's IG channel, for the sake of entertaining people. Or do what Childish Gambino, NIN and other bands have done and release something for free. Both are forms of free music.

Ideally, it would be great if DMB released all the b-sides they've been sitting on for years.

How do we watch this? Only on Verizon twitter stream?

I wish they'd do these on a TV channel. Cable TV has live a thousand fucking channels. I'm just nitpicking though, I appreciate it happening at all.

I could see this happening, to counteract all of the money that Coran is about to lose this year, but I could also see them continue to sit on that as well, until they completely hang up the boots.

I feel like so many artists spend their time on their own social media accounts whereas Dave doesn't have a twitter or Facebook or Instagram, so he's not really able to just go out there and do it like so many others.

Now, if you wanna watch Stefan strum Hunger....maybe we're on to something.....

I was hoping it'd be available on YouTube. It's easy to stream that on my TV

Same. Doing it only on Twitter feels weird to me. Not an ideal platform.

Agree it would be awesome on YouTube because I could watch in the living room with my family. I am not big on watching entire videos on a phone. My wife does that all the time, I don't know how she can stand it.

I did see this is supposed to be on Yahoo Entertainment as well. I assume that means I can watch it on Yahoo's website comfortably at my PC.

I've never had lesser expectations for a single Dave performance in my entire life, yet I somehow think I'll still be disappointed.

It's a free streamed show on Yahoo Entertainment from Dave's garage... your expectations should be low ... like VERY low.

Remember when he'd play songs like Warehouse in a solo setting? Something with a little fire and passion? That cover was just completely forgettable.

I'll be honest, I didn't know the song before this performance. I also said out loud to my girlfriend "he always seems to go play covers at things like this" and was kinda disappointed.

But looking back, this was the perfect song to play. I think it was a fantastic move by him, he put in the effort, and nailed a poignant song for this exact moment. The lyrics to this song hit perfectly for what we are all (hopefully) going through staying at home for these reasons.

Surprising. I thought you'd be looking for him to play a set consisting primarily of unreleased Batson Session songs with new, improvised lyrics.
