I'm pretty sure that aside from mentions that some releases sold less than expected they've never said anything about how these have sold.

Because I wanted it released. I'm glad you aren't buying it.

there are some nice musical flourishes brought out nicely in the mix from what I can hear..esp Butch during the outro/jam. ... and I thought Rawshawn (ehem, Director Ross) was muted in some parts compared to Leroi (nice!)

Actually, the last week or so with all this new DMB live stuff in the pipeline, I've been listening to an LT here and there and I'm glad we're getting a new show with Leroi... Initially, I wasn't that excited about the pick but it should be satisfying unltil Live25 comes around. good shit folks.

I'll give the video another play with some good headphones on. IPad speakers leave much to be desired. Either way, Butch

Damn, just watched the Rapunzel video...sounds good and everything but really seems to be missing the "energy" or something. Does anyone else get this "going through the motions" vibe from that video? Seems really lifeless to me. Carter and Dave always smile, but something about it just seems off. Didn't realize until I actually watched it.

Totally agree. They were so hollow in 2006 and 2007. A huge reason for that is Roi and Rashawn. Just listen to how the classic horn riff sounds so lifeless throughout the song. And I can't even hear him playing during the choruses, which is a huge part of adding feeling to Rapunzel. Fonz sounds really good though and Boyd is hitting his parts, love how he goes over and jams in front of Fonz in the outro that's something I miss.

I remember the one thing that bothered me about 2007 was Carter changing his part for IOY.

Whatever the band's internal issues, they obviously were working through it like professionals.

I don't care how lifeless they looked. They sounded great by September.

Ah yes, that whole ordeal... I remember the drumming in the chorus getting compared to a Coldplay song.

It's been a while but I'm wondering where we are at in terms of the venues that have had the most shows but still no release. Thirteen years of LTs and I'm still waiting for a Mansfield show. When it does come there is literally a 50/50 shot that it was a show I attended.

Exact same situation, sub in me. He says "Rob Robbie Robert Bokon" and I want to punch him in the face, let alone all the other people's crap I have to deal with. Sure it's part of being a celeb, but some days things sit worse with you than others. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to spend MORE time with that person under any circumstances.

Which Mansfield show(s) would you want released?

7/7/04 with no question. Underrated '04 show with a poor tape, lots of highlights (see Crazy Easy and basically the whole second half of the set), great flow, representative of the venue in many ways (i.e. the "Boston tea party" lyric substitution in DIDO). Throw in some filler from N1 that year too and you've got a pretty sweet three disc set I'd say.

However I admit heavy bias in that pick. These would also make good releases (asterisk next to shows I attended):
8/31/95, 6/12/97, 9/9/03, 6/24/08*, 6/25/08*, 6/8/10* hell even 7/9/05* though we already have the highlight of that show released (the #34)

Venue has a long and rich history with the band, deserves a release, and it will inevitably.

Missed the 2010 shows and I don't think I've ever listened to them. I'll have to check them out. 9/9/03 was a fun show and was definitely one of those shows that had a very party-like vibe, Dave vocally and visibly in an extremely good mood all night. A HUGE contrast to the pissy mood everyone was in for the Hartford gigs a week earlier. What killed the vibe though was the Sleep to Dream Her --> Where Are You Going combo. Not a perfect show, but a fun one to be at for sure.

I also really like the '12 shows too, 6/5 and 6/6 even more so. I would say from top to bottom, 6/12/97 would be a real solid choice with no "clunkers".
