Oh lord no way. Love to visit but living in a place like that would drive me insane. Maybe when I'm old and retired.

I decided that I’m going to become a certified cicerone. The first step is to become a certified beer server, so I’m going to take that test at the end of June. Wish me luck! This will be a big deal for me if can successfully complete it.

Come on down. I'll have a glass of Woodford waiting on ya. (Yes I live in Indiana, but I live 4 miles from the Ohio River. There's a reason it's called Kentuckiana and not Indatucky)

Does this mean you're already a certified server?
If so, is becoming a certified server something I could do for fun?

No, I’m not a certified beer server yet. That’s what I’m doing at the end of June. And yeah, anybody can do it. There’s an international organization that does the certification, and anybody can do it any time. The beer server exam is only $70. All the info is at [Only registered users can see links.] .

Okay, after you're done in June, can you let me know if it was something that was fun to do? I love beer and have been to over a hundred breweries and tours (hitting Portland, OR for a week next month) but I also don't want to learn that much about draft systems...

I know you work at breweries, so you're coming at it from a different direction. I would do it for the hobby, not at all for work.
