I wouldn't call our group of death by any means. I usually interpret that has having 2 teams the are expected to qualify and then 1-2 more mid to top tier teams that in any other group would probably qualify.

I hope we do well but my gut tells me we go out at the group stage, 1-1-1 and Klinsmann keeps his job because the top brass at US Soccer are still infatuated with him for some reason.

Either way, I'm pretty excited and I have this pinned to my wall. It's a jpg and not Word unfortunately, but it's better than me (re)doing it myself.

Costa Rica is a good squad. They did beat Italy and Uruguay in WC14. (When Uruguay were Copa America Champs)

I do believe USA has their work cut out for them. That group is very formidable. US cant go 1-1-1. They need to win at least 2 games.

I would love to see US go far, but with the back 4 thats shaky and Guzan...oh man. I am staying positive.

Im concerned about Brasil and Chile. Chile looked flat against Mexico, and Brasil always looks shaky before tournaments. Chile needs to finish top 8 for me, while Brasil has an easy road out of their group.

Im also not happy about Mexico's homefield advantage for the Copa. Playing Pasadena, Phoenix and Houston, it will be no differet if Mexico was playing in Toluca, Guadalajara and Mexico City. Unreal. Mexico needs to take full advantage.

My fiancée and I will be at the Copa America quarterfinal game at Foxboro on 6/18. Sitting in the seventh row behind one of the corner flags. I assume we'll be seeing some combination of Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, Chile. Should be a great game no matter which way you slice it.

Agreed. Great seats, and the competition will be great, even if the Copa is a ceremonial tournament. I do love FIFA tournaments. Especially with the Euro and the Copa running about the same time. I love soccer.

I am going to the Brasil-Haiti game in Orlando myself with my adopted Brasilian family (my best friend and his family). Always fun watching Brasil play b/c of the unreal expectations some Brasil fans have.

WOW USA WOW.

I am very disappointed. I am disappointed that Jurgen thinks he can still blame everyone but himself. He is too proud. That being said, Colombia took advantage of its opportunities. USA could have done the same.

There were average. Very defensive.

I still don't think Ecuador had a "goal" vs Brasil. That ball was past the touch line.

It's what I've come to expect under this regime so it's hard for me to be disappointed when I was expecting the loss. Is it wrong of me as a US supporter hoping they go 0-3 so maybe, just maybe Klinsmann will be canned?

I wasn't expecting a loss, but for the US to be some what competitive. They weren't. Colombia did what they wanted too.

Jurgen just needs to own it. He's not a mad scientist. Stick to whats good for the team, IMO:

- Bench Bradley (Bradley lost a lot of possession when he had the ball. Not a big fan of Beckerman, but he at least he holds possession)
- Bench Jones (He looks slow, and is a liability. Nagbe?)
- Move Bedoya to a wider position. If Jurgen can't, please put someone else in that likes to play the wing.

It may be a lot I am asking, but USA needs to embrace the youth and move forward. Some of these old guys are becoming a liability.

So the US finds themselves in a "lose and out" situation tonight.

Wow again. (With Spain losing to Georgia too)

I realize that i jumped on Jones and Bradley earlier this last week, but that being said they looked so much better tonight. Jones played a great game. Im still not convinced about both however.

Costa Rica looked flat, and i thought they would have played better bc they are a decent team.

US needed this win for morale, chemistry. Good win tonight.

Glad to see them play with a little bit of fire last night but makes me wonder "what if" they did that in the first game.

A Draw against Paraguay and we're in the knockout phase.

I was completely wrong about Uruguay. If Venezuela could have finished their many chances the game would have been 5-0.

Uruguay 0-6 last 6 Copa games.
