Oh, I see. I've decided to return after a few weeks hiatus, menus the 3 posts I've made over the duration of my break.

The images from Sandy's aftermath on the Nightly News are absolutely surreal. Seaside Heights pier roller-coaster under water, the flooded tunnels of the New York Metro. Breezy Points' 110 homes destroyed in a fire. Insane.

Still wasn't enough to wash all the Hep C out of Atlantic City though...

My friend runs the Casino Pier in Seaside, he has for years, it is his life and his baby... he is inconsolable...
My home is okay, just a lot of clean up. However many home in the town I work (Ocean City) were damaged, all the businesses on main street had 3-4 feet of water in them. the dunes breached on the north end, places I worked at when I was younger, are destroyed... However the pictures of Mantoloking where there was basically a river going across the island are horrible...

ps. According to friends who are in Law Enforcement, Atlantic City has become a warzone... but I kinda expected that once that Jackass Mayor Langford told "His people" not to leave the island...

pps. The owners of the Revel were seen trying to push the building into the ocean to claim the insurance...

that's hilarious.

and, yeah, the "warnings" i've seen issues by New Jersey officials are hilariously extreme even considering the amount of damage that was caused there.

it basically seems like "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE SAVE YOURSELVES!" was the official statement

it was mostly a warning for the barrier islands... alot of them were breached and tons of homes were washed away... it is kinda fortunate they are 2nd homes for a lot of people. i live like 1 mile from the bay and was totally fine, but most of the beaches are gone, I saw my two favorite restaurents under 4 feet of water (at least i know the crabs will be fresh when i go back).

Also the countless pics of sharks that were so obviously photoshoped were great. but my favorite was the one with Godzilla..

I also saw a pic of Jones Beach Amphitheater under water... saw some cool PJ and DMB shows up there

Yea, my NJ town got pretty messed up from Sandy as well. We live on a higher elevation (very hilly town) and I have never seen winds this strong ever in my life. They say no power until the end of the week. Trees and wires down everywhere.

Scattered rains and gusting winds for a few days around here. No power outage for me yet.

Stay safe everyone! Mind you, doesn't it always seem that media projects the worst for these types of things? I mean, of course, in scale.

I was gonna say death toll, but thought I'd be tactful. So much for that.

Just got my power back here. Lost a couple of trees, but otherwise unscathed. Trees and power lines down everywhere, and of course people living on the coastlines got swamped. School cancelled all week, so my kids are psyched. And my office building's area still has no power, oh well
