How the fuck can Dave honestly think that "Be Yourself" is a good song and worthy of a studio album spot? I could even see Batson telling Dave, "That song is a dirty whore man. Stay away. Far far away. Don't be a mofo."

I feel that, if true, it was selected purely for shock value.

Oh come on. It's not surprising at to me that Dave would love Be Yourself. This is the same guy that wrote the following lines:

"I call you up, you pick up"
and
"I would dig a hole all the way to China Unless of course I was there"

I know. I'm just joking around. Honestly though, how did he write Dreaming Tree and Pig?

The music to Be Yourself was OK, and the Alpine version without the Ladies was by far the best (polishing a turd, I know).

With some new lyrics instead of the random mumbling, I didn't mind the chorus or the music. It wouldn't be my first choice for a song making the new album, but trying to look for some positives.

I am very much a positive person with this band, but I'm struggling to find excitement for this album currently. I know this is a rumor and could very well not turn out, but it doesn't help me.

Expectations couldn't possibly be lower for this album. I think there might be a few good surprises but in the end will be the final nail in the coffin, especially if it's just more Dad Rock with "save the world" lyrics. Hopefully after this disaster of an album they go into full-on nostalgia act mode.
