I went with 7. Crash has never been a favorite of mine. I’ve always felt like it there were production choices on that one that didn’t serve the songs very well. The way they process the guitars and the fact that the tempos on several of the songs feel just a little slow to me robs what is an undeniable set of songs of some of their drive and makes the album feel much more a product of its time than either of the other “Big 3.” But come on, even if it’s not as good as I’d like it to be, it’s still pretty great. Could definitely do without Let You Down, though.

8. UTTAD is my favorite DMB album and I gave that a 9, so this one has to slot in right below. But it's very close. I'd say like 2 Boyd pubes behind.

If we're measuring distance using pubes, Boyd's are not a good example of "really close."

I went with 8; it's still an incredible collection of songs but I like it just a bit less than UTTAD.

well, in my defense, I was first gonna go with "pussy hairs" but thought that was maybe too crude for our 3 female boarders

I voted 10, but BTCS is my favorite. But Crash is too good to be a 9.

It's like a 9.8

Gave it an 8. Except for SMTS, Too Much, and DIDO, still don't love the production on this one.

Say Goodbye and LIOG have been a let down since the first listen (compared to live versions that I had heard before the release).

But obviously, still a great album because of the songwriting.

Crash is my favorite DMB album, but I think BTCS is a better album. I gave Crash an 8.

I gave it an 8. Overall I like the songs better than UTTAD (which I gave a 9), but I feel like the sound and feel of the music was better captured on UTTAD.

The title song is one of their prettiest songs. They should have won the Grammy for that one.

No such thing as perfection (e.g. 10) and nothing is as bad as it seems when you're a 1... I give it a 9.
This IS my favorite DMB album and I listen to it as often as once a month.... all the way through... it's DMB perfection for me and includes most of my all-time favorite DMB tracks.. Graves, Monkey, Billies, Two Step and just outside my top 20 at #21 is #41

I had UTTAD at a time 10. Crash is a 9.

Bluewater34 listed several of my critiques - rhythms and the way the guitars are processed. As the years go by I've noticed there is something about this DIDO that is just a bit off. I don't know if it's the electricity of the guitars, Dave's melodies/vocals or both. But these are just small critiques. DIDO has some of Carters best work in the studio.

Cry Freedom and #41 Say Goodbye are three tracks that I think are just about perfect.

I'm probably at a 7.5-8, but I agree with your critiques here.

Except Let You Down...I actually like that song, but I get why people don't.

10 for me. Love the sound and energy of the album and it's probably my favorite collection of songs. A few minor gripes here and there but it's easily the studio album I've listened to the most.

DMB nailed their first 3 releases and LWS was on the same route, but I gave Crash a 9 as BTCS is the one at a 10 for me. The songs and song writing on Crash is so good.
