Check the "What album are you listening to?" thread.
No, I posted that Vampire Weekend album in the wrong thread and just noticed it.

David Byrne was like nothing I’ve ever seen. His stage was empty, and all the instruments were carried by the musicians (including the six percussionists). Every song had some sort of choreography. Think Stop Making Sense, but with everyone moving. I got a little misty during Naive Melody, stood in shocked disbelief at the opening bass line of Born Under Punches, and got to scream both “Burning Down the House” and “My God, What Have I Done” at David Byrne. If you get the chance, I highly recommend seeing this show.

This sucks. He's been a mainstay of Kingston for nearly 40 years. I was just there a few days ago. Bought some classic rock and banjo stuff. Chatted with him for a bit. Damn.

There is a GoFundMe page set up to help him out. It's near the halfway mark already, with a $10,000 goal.

Even though it's over the intended goal, if anyone can donate a few bucks and get that total number past 300 people that'd be great!

It’s being reported that Aretha Franklin is gravely ill and her family and friends are starting to gather. The articles I read didn’t say that this is because they expect her to die, but it’s an easy inference. She is truly one of the greatest, most important singers in American history, so let’s hope she pulls through.

Urethra Franklin. Did 2 of her shows last year. Sad to see a legend go, of course, but she was not a super pleasant person, at least in my experience.

BUT she wasn’t nearly as bad as Millie Jackson: That woman is a cunt.

Yeah, she has had a reputation as being difficult for almost her entire career. From what I’ve read about it, you’re far from the only tech or crew member to have had a bad experience with her. But once she was on stage... damn.
