It was black and blue like something out of the matrix. My favorite of the 2004 songs as well...has held up the best over time too.

Tossed in a 2004 show the other day. Forgot just how good that tour was.

My song was Crazy Easy though, couldn't get enough of it.

Still got the archive up too: [Only registered users can see links.]

Fuck it Iím over it. All this god dam chatter and anticipation. Iím sure they have their reasons, I think ultimately theyíre deserving of having it their way, and I have it first-hand that they took the time, nailed every detail, and so many people will love it. People tell me this all the time. Tremendous, believe me.

But fuck, drop the album in July for all I care. I have been tied to a post and broken. Iíll enjoy it when it cones, but shit if i care when that is (this Friday)

I still have nearly all of these in a couple of bins in my basement. Someday I'd like to get around to digitizing what I don't already have on my computer, but today is not that day.

All the 2016 songs have grown on me, I will say that. I mean, at the time I thought they were embarrassingly bad, but they seem to work

I didn't hate it, but I thought, at the time, that it was a huge departure from the band's sound. BTCS is hugely respected, and rightfully so, but in my view it really was the beginning of a lot of the things people don't like about the band today. I vividly remember thinking that a lot of the lyrics were so watered down and fluffy compared to their "old stuff" (fry an egg??) - i know plenty of the songs are lyrical masterpieces, but back then we were so spoiled and expected every song to be brilliant. I also remember being struck by how many songs sounded louder/more electric/rock-ish. Obviously it's an amazing album, but hints of the band's direction over the next 20 years were certainly there. I also remember loving the Lillywhite sessions because those songs sounded like a return to the band's "old school" sound.

Sometimes albums take some time to sink in and to really enjoy. To me the best judge of a good album is if it ages well. Despite whatever initial listening experience you have, if you can continually come back to the album years and years later and enjoy and appreciate it, itís a damn good album. The Big 3 all are like that. I canít say that about the rest of DMBs albums. I liked Big Whiskey and AFTW a LOT when they first came out, but have no inteeest in listening to them again nowadays at all, especially not from start to finish.

Remember in '08-'10 when 41 was the highlight of the night when it got played?

I remember in a show that had JTR, Hello Again, KKJ and Busted Stuff bustouts and Break For It debuted, 41 was the highlight

Good times

There it is! Man that brought me back thanks. Like most of us here I'm sure, I burned the new songs to a CD after they debuted. My first impression of Sugar Will was the riff sounded like one of those old hypnotic video game songs.... so when I saw that blue effect at the first show I went to that tour, my mind was blown
