The Avett Brothers [May It Last, HBO Documentary Airing Now]

Had listened to these guys a bit last year, then just got their new album when it came out and havent listened to much else since. I now have all of their music and I'm seeing them in Boston in a few days.

They're like Ray Lamontagne, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, and Elvis Costello all rolled into one, and it is beautiful.

Begin Avett Brothers ass kissing here:

haha yah i was too lazy to actually count how many days so i just said a few... and i cant freakin wait. tickets were so cheap too (relatively speaking). 25 dollars for floor seats so ill be sure to get my ass right up to the stage. from what ive seen and heard they put on a hell of a live show.

emotionalism is solid, i havent listened to it as intensely as their new one but there's a lot of stuff on there thats a little weird for my taste; i like the softer folk stuff better. Their very first EP/Album thing is pretty awesome too. the song February 20 2000 is just so raw and unadultered i love it.

I love their americana stuff... but i get turned off when they go with the electric bass and drum set... too generic for me.
