All part of the experience.

Just bought 3 Billy Joel and 2 Elton John records on Discogs and Room for Squares by John Mayer and Warpaint by the Black Crowes on Best Buy....I can't stop!

I know. It's addicting. Listening to Hotel California right now.

There is one thing though. I've made it a rule, with very few exceptions (LTs and a few artists being those exceptions), that anything post-1985 is something I will not buy in vinyl format. I've been trying to make this a listening experience as it was when the music of the 60s, 70s, and early 80s was prominent.

Something of a history lesson of sorts. I've always been partial to older music anyway. The iPod will not suffice for these tunes any longer.

I've got categories for new and old. I'll only buy a new one if I like the entire album, not just a few songs.

That's about how I'm taking it.

Oh also, I never realized that the cover of Frampton Comes Alive was more than just a headshot of him with a blank stare and purple hair... it's an actual full body shot of him with his guitar when you open the gatefold.

Yea, I only but vinyl if I like the full album as well. I just picked up the Godfather OST on eBay. It should sound sweet on my player. I'm looking to get classical music and jazz next.

I picked up the Byrds "mr tambourine man" from Sundazed.com. It's brand new, mono and sounds awesome. I'm in the same boat (sort of). I dig picking up 80s new wave and classics from the 70s (Aerosmith "live bootleg" and fleetwood Mac "rumours" have to be my absolute faves so far). But, I also buy my new music on vinyl. I picked up the remastered London calling, the chvrches album and I'm looking forward to the new Broken Bells album.

Yeah, I'm putting together the Aerosmith, Elton John and Billy Joel discographies. Then The Beatles, I think, comes next....

The Beatles are so fucking expensive, no matter the condition. I'd like to grab some of theirs but I don't want to pay up just yet.

'Rumours' is awesome, I can't believe so many hits came off of that thing. One that I didn't mind paying a few bucks extra to get a better condition used.
I also have The Byrds Greatest Hits coming in sometime soon, much anticipation with that one.

I've also been building working some jazz into the mix. Highly recommend these two staples; Miles Davis' 'Kind of Blue' and Dave Brubecks Quartet's 'Time Out'.

Trying to get my hands on a Django Reihnhardt record though. Not easy. Jazz is considerably harder to find.

Yeah, I think I might do one every two weeks or so....start with the White Album (since I'll probably pay around $30 for the reissue) and then go from there.

The Beatles vinyls aren't too bad if you do heavy searching. I picked up the original analog Beatles box set from 1979 for around $300.

I'd just prefer building other bands' catalogs before I go after The Beatles.

I just got pretty much all of Chicago's discography up to '78 (everything with Kath) for around $20.

The Beatles will come with time... and a bigger expendable income.

You convinced me.

Just took the cash I would've spent on one Beatles LP and got these on Discogs:

Simon & Garfunkel - The Concert In Central Park (2xLP, Album)
U2 - The Unforgettable Fire (LP, Album)
U2 - The Joshua Tree (LP, Album, Gat)
U2 - War (LP, Album, Gat)
Elton John - Sleeping With The Past (LP)

11 records for $20 with shipping included, with a few of those double LPs. Yeah it's that good.

Wow, that's amazing. What is the quality of the records/covers though?
