Yea, I haven't listened to 12.7.98 in like 10 years, so I'm pretty excited to give it a spin again. I hope they officially release this one day too.

I'm 100% sure that 12.7 and 12.3 '98 are both on the list of upcoming releases at some point. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Hi guys. I'm so sorry for the delay on my part. I had a crazy busy week and weekend and I had a job interview today as well. I'm going to begin listening to the show today.

Despite a flub or two and being a truncated version, Recently with Bela is one heck of a way to start a show. Crash and DDTW back to back with Bela hit the spot for me, despite Dave flipping the lyrics in DDTW. Crash was great though, especially Bela's parts in the end.

Linus Heartbeat PNP Rapunzel... fantastic work from Butch and Roi in the intros, I especially loved Roi teasing Linus and Lucy for a brief moment in his Heartbeat solo.

Great power Too Much leading into a bit of a dream run to end the show:

Dancing Nancies
Warehouse
Christmas Time Is Here [tease]
Crush
Rhyme & Reason
Pig
Two Step (Ft. Bela Fleck)
Lie in Our Graves (Ft. Bela Fleck)

Getting Pig late in a set or even at all in a Winter 98 show is a big win and then you tack on an incredible Two Step with a Tim/Bela duel and close the set with LIOG...that's one hell of a run.

Show rating: ****3/4

Probably my all time favorite show. I think I'll jump in for this one.

The chorus of this Recently, with Tim's and Bela's fills, is absolute perfection.

I wore out disc three of this show. Always hoped they'd release it as a bookend to LT1, maybe as LT50 or something. Graves is my favorite Bela song.

Bela sounds very beautiful on Crash, Pig is awesome, so much more. This is probably a superior show to 12/8

Without a doubt superior. 12/8 is fine and has some amazing moments as we know (41, linus and lucy, Last stop) but 12.7 is just better--more energy, better setlist, solid performances, better flow. Can't wait til 12.7 gets its proper release. It's one of the ones we've wanted for years. Put it up there with 12.3.98 and 12.21.02 (which we recently got).

My bad. I've been a little behind the past two weeks, but I plan on finally listening to this one again tomorrow and I should have my review completed by tomorrow evening.

I listened to this one today, i'm going to agree with some of you that this show is better then 12/8. The end run of this show is amazing. Though i prefer Bela's solo on LIOG from the 11/30/98 DMB Live. This show 100% deserves a proper release.

Special shout out to the girl who screams "I wanna F**k You" before Linus and Lucy starts

Dave Matthews Band
12.7.98 (Night 1)
Worcester's Centrum Centre
Worcester, MA

1. Recently (truncated) - No intros. Even though it was the truncated version, it was still an energetic performance and a solid opener.
2. Crash Into Me - The crowd loved this one. It was a fun singalong between the band and the audience. I also enjoyed hearing Bela on this one.
3. Don't Drink The Water - Fuckin awesome performance! I love Fall '98 DDTWs
4. Linus & Lucy - Awesome sauce! I miss Butch.
5. Heartbeat Intro - I prefer the darker '98 versions over the jazzier '99 and '00 versions. Awesome solo by Roi.
6. PNP --> Rapunzel - Really great version. Tim had nice fills and Dave's voice was spot on.
7. Too Much - I like Tim'e grungy guitar setting on this one. It makes the song sound heavier.
8. Dancing Nancies - Beautiful vocal performance and BT was wonderful throughout the song.
9. Warehouse - Fucking awesome version, as per usual.
10. Christmas Time Is Here - Very rare and sweet.
11. Crush - my favorite all-time version of this song. It blows my mind every time.
12. Rhyme & Reason - Dave put a lot of emotion into this one. Great version.
13. Pig - Awesome as always
14. Two Step - Fucking mind blown! One of my favorite versions of this song. Absolutely incredible musicianship by every came member and guest on stage. Bela and Tim'e duel was epic!
15. Lie In Our Graves - How do you top off that epic Two Step? By closing the main set with an awesome LIOG. Man, what incredible energy.

Encore:

16. Christmas Song - Nice "Can't Buy Me Love/All You Need Is Love" interpolation at the end. Always a wonderful song to hear.
17. Halloween - The '98 Halloweens are always unique and very full sounding. I really enjoyed listening to this version. Very BTCS sounding, with the opera outro and all. Solid!

All in all, we all know that that is a classic and top tier all-time great DMB show. It showcases the band at its best, with amazing guest spots from Tim Reynolds, Bela Fleck, and Butch Taylor. This show is a must release and I really hope we get it in time for next year's holiday season. This is one of my favorite shows and I am really glad to have listened to it again. I felt like that young happy DMB fan again.
