Boys And Girls In America. not their best album but it has undeniable hooks and is the most immediate.

Summer of '88 was all heat and intensity
Saw The Youth of Today at the 7th Street Entry
There were skins in the pit and some of them tried to kill me
Same club next summer and now they're called Shelter
And after the show i spoke with the singer
And he tried to hand me a pamphlet about Hare Krishna
I said "you gotta be kidding"

fuck.

that's all that needs to be said. finn is fucking untouchable as a lyricist right now, despite a few poor choices on this new one.

The two bonus cuts, "Touchless" & "Ascension Blues", are pretty solid.

Been listening to these guys again lately. Such an amazing band. HiW never really fully clicked with me, but there are a few great songs on there, and it's still a very solid album. I just can't wait to see them live again, it's just the perfect definition of a rock show.

it's settled in right on par with stay positive. a handful of all time THS classics, some real duds, and one or two that are just middle of the road.

I like SP a bit more, but that's a pretty good assessment I'd say.

I want to try and get into this band. What album should I start since I'm starting out as a casual listener?

Boys And Girls In America for sure. it's not necessarily their best record, but it's their least challenging and still fantastic collection of songs. it's definitely the go to for a new listener.

Agreed. BaGiA is my personal favorite of theirs. Maybe not as cohesive as some of the other ones, but there are just so many gems on there. Great, great album. Perfect starting point for them.
