What's your price range? If you're willing to go $200-$300 there are a ton of great options.

i was hoping in the $100 range since it's for a teen. but anything in that range may just ruin her records and sound bad in the process.

after I posted, I thought used might be the way to go.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
I think this makes for a terrific starter record player.

for $100 roshea's post isn't bad. I'd personally really try to find something with a counter weight though if possible. Hard to do in that price range though, for sure.

Personally, I would stay away from Audio Technica, as they are on the cheap side and they can possibly damage your records. I would try and find a used Pro-Ject Debut Carbon or Rega RP1.

It's just my humble opinion. I'm glad you are enjoying yours though. I tend to be an audiophile snob at times, so don't mind me

I’m no snob and I hate my Audio Technica. It sounds like trash and once I get enough money together to upgrade, I’m going to.

I would personally go with either of my two recommendations above. They seem to be the top favorites for entry level high-quality record players. If I didn't have my vintage Thorens TD-125, I would have gotten one of them.

I got a U-Turn Orbit back in January and really love it. Base model starts at $180, but there are many customizations you can make. I added the acrylic platter, Grado Black1 cartridge, and built in preamp which bumped it up to the low $400 range. I've been super happy with it overall.

That's what I have. Got it 3.5 years ago when I thought I'd have a vinyl renaissance. Haven't used it in 3 years

This is my baby:

I would eventually like to get a black plynth though, instead of the brown color.
