My wife and I were so happy when we saw this on The Soup last night. We had thought maybe we were dumb and the only ones not able to follow everything.

I watched sunday's episode late night on Tuesday because I was so afraid of going any longer without it getting spoiled for me. And, I have to say that ep freaked me the fuck out. Probably mostly because I have two daughters, but I had a hard time going to sleep afterwards. And then, when I went up to bed I looked at the monitor and my oldest was not in her bed. She was just on the floor, but it gave my heart a good jolt. Sad old man

The old lady was creeptastic. "Rejoice, Carcosa!"

And here's the Robert W. Chambers poem from his The King in Yellow book:

Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
The shadows lengthen
in Carcosa.

Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.

Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
Must die unheard in
Dim Carcosa.

Song of my soul, my voice is dead,
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in
Lost Carcosa.

Interesting. My use of torrents is basically live music these days, but I have done my fair share of downloading and never seen one.

The finale was really heavy. But still hopeful in its way.

The midsection felt like a horror film.

Loved the hospital scenes.

Probably my favourite monologue from the series.

This... This is what I'm talking about. This is what I mean when I'm talkin' about time, and death, and futility. all right there are broader ideas at work, mainly what is owed between us as a society for our mutual illusions. 14 straight hours of staring at DB's, these are the things ya think of. You ever done that? You look in their eyes, even in a picture, doesn't matter if they're dead or alive, you can still read 'em. You know what you see? They welcomed it... not at first, but... right there in the last instant. It's an unmistakable relief. See, cause they were afraid, and now they saw for the very first time how easy it was to just... let go. Yeah They saw, in that last nanosecond, they saw... what they were. You, yourself, this whole big drama, it was never more than a jerry rig of presumption and dumb will, and you could just let go. To finally know that you didn't have to hold on so tight. To realize that all your life, all your love, all your hate, all your memories, all your pain, it was all the same thing. It was all the same dream, a dream that you had inside a locked room, a dream about being a person. And like a lot of dreams, there's a monster at the end of it. ~ Rust Cohle

Good. God.

Unbelievable.

I love Rust's character, as we all do. But I do love the fact that Marty came up with the biggest break in the case, the green...

My only complaint about the end was I felt there should have been more hospital time. We should have seen Rust actually laying there in that coma, especially since he had that really dramatic scene describing it at the end. It just felt like there was so much to tie up and I think they did the best they could and it came out fucking great. But I just felt like some of that hospital stuff was a bit rushed.
