Hopefully people are gonna be getting to this soon. Remember to use a 5 star rating system when posting your thoughts on it. Let's get to it so we can talk about it.

Gonna watch and comment on it later tonight.

Just started this and I have to say that I'm pretty excited that Scott Rosenberg is the screenwriter.

well that wasn't boring, i'll give it that. but mainly because it was so absurd and over the top, and so hilariously bad in spots. it was so all over the place in tone. i felt like it was unnecessarily stylized in spots, and it clashed with the 1994 backdrop which also didn't really feel fleshed out enough except for the end. jared leto was good, but i hated his character and really felt no sympathy towards anyone in the movie. also, holy gay undertones batman.

john c mginley's dreadlocks were just too much

leto's orgasm face

all that said, i enjoyed it but probably not for reasons intended. what a ridiculous movie.

3 out of 5 stars.

It really is an all over the place film (in good and not so good ways). I'll get my thoughts down later tonight.

Just finished watching and I'll give it three stars.

It was certainly entertaining—I like road movies, in general, as a genre and I'm a big fan of the western setting. Their adventures, while completely ridiculous, were fun and it definitely went into some territory that I didn't see coming. That being said, it was a completely uneven movie. I felt like, every minute, I either really liked it or really hated it. Jake Gyllenhaal's performance, in particular, was pretty over-the-top most of the time though I think he had a couple of good scenes where I almost sympathized with his character. McGinley was ridiculous and pretty awesome, though.

I had some big problems with the musical cues. They were trying way too hard to make the audience feel the connection between Leto and Blair.

I do think that the script could have turned out a better finished project, given a bigger budget and more subtle direction.

I agree with just about everything you said. There are a ton of problems with it, but it still manages to be very entertaining and engaging.

I wouldn't even call it gay undertones, though, because I think they're pretty in-your-face throughout.

you said it perfectly with one scene you hate it and the next you're digging it.

the gay thing was just strange to me because they ultimately went nowhere with it and it was just sort of odd.

Yeah, you're right - they kept putting it out there but then never actually addressed it.

Last I watched it, I remember getting an odd vibe with their friendship, but I don't remember thinking there were any gay undertones. I'm gonna watch it now and post my thoughts soon.
