Are we all suffering from the "grass is greener" effect?

best decision i ever made.

met a bunch of people that are more like minded to me - and sick of all the illinois politics/people/weather/corn.

Illinois will always be home. Chicago is a great city. I miss my family. But this place is for real and I don't see myself leaving anytime soon.

I live in Denver now.

Sunny weather, mountains, bud, and a whole ton of women who like all 3 of those things.

I'm a die hard Broncos fan, since I was a little kid. I visited Denver in April 2014 and I absolutely loved it there.

Do you hang out with Josh there?

Very cool.

I visited here in 2014. Did 3 days in Denver (Cubs were playing the Rockies) & 2 in Boulder (Ryan Adams concert at the fox). That trip really sold me. It took about a year and a half to find a full-time job and then make the move.

I moved out here December 2015 for a new job starting in January. So far it's been amazing. I work downtown and live right by Coors Field, and spend most weekends up in the mountains. Met a cool hippie chick from Boulder too who has really opened my eyes to a lot of local, non-touristy stuff.

I'm pretty sure I saw Josh walking down the street a few months ago but I left it be.

that's really awesome! I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying it there. I would definitely move there. I absolutely loved my trip there. I visited the Broncos stadium, but it was during the offseason. I still need to catch a home game there one day.

Bingo. Add in the traffic, taxes, and boring ass geography. Monotony at its finest. I'd imagine New Jersey is worse.

I actually like the corn fields though!

I've lived here 34 years and I'm tired of it. Just about all of my friends moved away years ago. I feel totally alone and out of place here.

So, I recently was given a new desk chair. I found I feel more comfortable using it without arms. Does anyone feel the same way?

Also, fuck me I need to lose some weight. A good 20 pounds. I'm 6 foot 3 so it doesn't show terribly, but I like to joke that if I were shorter, I'd be an official fat guy. I think the excess poundage could be a contributing factor as to why my legs/hips/back ache fairly often.

But boy do I love pie/ice cream/cookies/hot chocolate etc. etc. etc.. So I'm attempting to cut down on all that stuff and walk at least 2 miles a day. I also volunteer several hours a week and the work I do keeps me climbing stairs and lifting things.

My lady is from there and she's heading home this weekend. She tried to get me to go, I vehemently declined.

That's how I rock my desk chair in my home office, I love it like that.

I too need to lose weight (about the same amount at least). I'm not a sweets guy, I just like garbage like kind beers and burgers with fries. What kills me is that I was in top physical shape about 2 years back and at age 43, it's gonna be tough to get that back.

My weakness is soda (poison) and pizza (the best).

If I could find a way to kick those two things I'd be doing much better.

I don't remember the last time I drank a soda. I drink two things (pretty much) every day, water and beer.

My weakness used to be soda. When my doctor told me to stop drinking it I told myself that it was never going to happen. But then I thought maybe I should give it a shot. I started to look for drinks without sugar and corn syrup. It was tough, but I finally found Pure Leaf Black Tea, unsweetened. This is good stuff! I stopped drinking soda for about 18 months. Only thing I would drink was, water, black tea and beer. I do have a soda occasionally, about once a week and no more than 20oz. You might think its tough to give soda up, but it really isn't if you can find a decent substitute. I suggest finding the Pure Leaf Unsweetened Black Tea.

I inadvertently lied...I definitely DO drink Arizona Diet Green Tea. It's decaffeinated and is sweetened only with some Splenda and a hint of natural honey. It is RIDICULOUS. I crave it when I'm hungover.
