I chuckled. Although I feel a multi-quote TLDR is coming in response.

Fact. Fact. Nope. No, just better sales than DMB. Not exactly, I don't like some stuff and some stuff I love, that's experimental jazz guitar for you. Not entirely sure that's true. Not sure where that is from. I have no idea what his taste in music is.

August-September-October before they blew up the session completely, fired SL and brough in Ballard to work/brainstorm with Dave?
Yeah, I've never really thought about the timeline, either, but just the fact that we know there are multiple versions of most of the songs and we just got one iteration has always made me think that maybe at least one or two of the truly unfinished tracks has a more complete version from those sessions somewhere that we've never heard.

If the disc was indeed labeled "The Summer So Far" and if Dave went out to LA to work with Ballard in, what late fall? then I guess it's possible that they did some more studio work with Lillywhite after the tour.

Well there was LWS disc 2 that had a handful of variations, grace I remember specifically. So I imagine there could be more stuff like that.

But that stuff was from earlier in the sessions. Dave was singing gibberish in that version of Busted Stuff for instance.

I think it's all conjecture unless we see the actual math.

The bridge/solo in Mercy at FarmAid was a lot of fun.

That can’t possibly be true.

A truer form of mercy would be never playing Mercy again.

It's the same old shit. The only thing he talks about on this side, and everyone is over it. One-trick magicians aren't interesting any more once you learn the secret. Just played out.
